  • Air leak resolved

    Hi friends,

Finally, the air loss problem of my FZ's front tyre is resolved.
Last weekend, as usual I went to refill the front tyre (this time I went to a another tyre guy) and I had a chat with the fellow. I told him the problem that I was facing since Feb 2010 - continuous loss of air from between the rim and the tyre.
He told me it could happen when mud or dirt gets in between the tyre and the rim, hence, both will not be sealed properly.
Per his suggestion, I made him clean the inside of the rim and tyre. Simple enough, it solved the problem. Infact, there was mud stuck in the inner side of the rim.
After cleaning and refitting, he proved that there is no air leak by applying soap water and immersed the wheel in water.
The whole process took only 5 mins and he charged me Rs 50, fair enough.
Besides, he had a Bosch combined machine and other modern equipments.
Even the Yamaha svc people could not stop the air leak.

    • Hi,

Cold starts have become a problem for my bike.
Now a days, I find it difficult to start my bike on cold morning or after prolonged periods of sitting idle. Earlier, it used to start atleast at the second crank and there was no need to raise the engine. I used to leave it on idle for around 30 secs for the engine to warm up.
Now, I have to crank it 4 to 5 times to get it started and it simply turns of in a few seconds. Even, if I raise the engine, it turns off after 10 to 15 secs.
I have to start and immediately ride away and keep the rpm below 3000 for a km and then pick up speed once the engine warms up.

      Any inputs please....?

Try using the choke for your early morning starts

          Hi rkakkar,

The choke is not much of use in my case. I mean, even if use the choke, the engine turns off once I switch off the choke.

Ok. Check your idle rpm once the engine has warmed up. It should be 1500rpm. Anything lower is causing this problem.

            • Hey Guys ... Just back from a 800 Km round trip to ooty ... The best ride of my life so far ... Bike just performed like a charm ! , but again the sprocket holder nut came off on the ghat section which was a bit frightening , but other than that ... FANTASTIC RIDE !!!!!

EDIT : 15T Setup not advisable on the twisties if riding with pillion ...

didn't have enough time to get it done ... , it was a bit scary but another group of bikers really helped me out , I found the sprocket and they found the holder ... used a screw from the number plate temporarily and made it back down and then got it fixed from a mech ...

wat are the pros and cons of having a 140/70 profile? i'm contemplating over going in for a 130/70 profile probly the 130 section (i think) from the new r15. or might go for the PSD only. two minds.

I have finally decided to get my bike Joeled,I will be heading to Race concepts work shop tomorrow. But from previous posts I understand that going for the bigbore kit without Free flow exhaust will do no good for the top-end performance.
But if I install only the FFE with the stock engine
1.Will there be an increase in my fuel efficiency?
2.Will the FFE with DB killer attract the cops attention too much?
3.Will there be a significant improvement in the topend performance?
