Just put one for mine. Had to go in for the traditional Butterfly design. Spoils looks but just couldnt get a bar type in JC Road. Cost me 430 bucks including fixing... Reckon with some experienced bargainer (which i'm not :-( ) could have brought it down some more... One of my buddies does have a bar but it is attached very low (where the lower portion of the butterfly one would come at) and I really doubt if it would serve its purpose...Originally posted by fayad555 View Posthas anyone put crash guard on fz?

sorry didnt see this one before I replied to your earlier thread.. Yeah it can be fitted without removing the side panels (which also are used to direct air on to the engine...). plus it doesnt obstruct air flow...Originally posted by fayad555 View Postcan it be put without removing the panel next to the tank?

@ all, i changed my clutch.
The cost for all parts was very high. For new clutch drum, cost around 1400/-, so i didn't gone for a new one, bushed the current drum in a lathe, cost around-400/- friction plated 4 nos (174*2 & 154*2), mag clutch (actual name i don't know, seen in job card) 3 nos (39*3), gasket-34/-, cost for cleaning the clutch-250/- as labour charges. total cost is 1457/-
For R15, clutch drum cost only 600/-.Last edited by Swas; 01-16-2010, 11:24 PM.______________________________________________

bar type crash guard would be better (good compromise between looks and safety)..but if it is too low, it would look bad and also the purpose might not be served...tђє รเlєภt รt๏г๓

I tottaly agree. If its for a busy city use, i would reccomend you not to sell you fz16. Because sometimes i find it hard to go through city traffic on my friends r15. But if you use the highway more, then the R15 is the thing.Originally posted by k2cool_87 View Postthe R 15 is a more complete machine than the fz...depends on the deal ur getting and the requirements that u have....It's not what you ride, it's your attitude that counts.

In heavy traffic, R15 is not really the bike u need .. but... anything and everything else on tar this bike does with style, elan, panache, whatever u want to call it.. !!!
R15 is an intended track tool, so maybe thats why the clutch parts and other things that maybe consumed on the track are somehow (i dont know how) cheaper! But yea, even fairing parts, once u come to think of it, are cheap.

I say go for Motul V300. Fully synthetic. Dosen't get heated up after short rides, works great at high revs, a tad costly(895rs i think). But only if you want the best for your bike.Originally posted by viswanath007 View Posti own limited eedition fazer
im havin a new prob with my bike
my bike clocked 3918km and jus nw i noticed that my bike's engine is gettin xtremely heated up after short rides of 4 to 10 km
speed around 50 to 60,i showed at the svc they said this is normal and after heating upto a certain extent the bike wont get heated up but my local mechanic said this isnt good.the svc guys also measured the temperature of the oil and it showed 85.5degree celsius they showed me a book and there showed idle engine rpm temperature is 75-85degrees.so i changed the oil yesterday but no good.so i wanna ask u if u have the same problem????
before the 2nd service before 3000km i havent had tis problem
wat shud i necessarily do to prevent this???
or else is this normal??
awaitin 4 ur reply

We only have to change it every 5000-6000kms.
Correct me if i'm wrong anyone.

Spot on. My friend has changed his R15 front faring 9 times. They are actually not that costly. Its one of the best bikes produced in india till date(according to me).Originally posted by TnT View PostIn heavy traffic, R15 is not really the bike u need .. but... anything and everything else on tar this bike does with style, elan, panache, whatever u want to call it.. !!!

Best and Cost efficient 140-60-17 Soft Compound Tyres?
Are there any Fz16 users who has used any other softcompound rear tyres? If so please shell out the info. Thanks.

The 140/60 R17 size is an odd size that's not available in most brands. The profile height that's usually available is 140/70.Originally posted by lonely_biker View PostAre there any Fz16 users who has used any other softcompound rear tyres? If so please shell out the info. Thanks.
The FZ rear tyre already has a very soft compound (compared to other Indian brands) and that's why its grip is so good and life so short!

Yes as you said, the MRF softcompounds are amazing. But the stock is very minimal here in trivandrum and i would like to try out something new.

One option I suggest is fitting a 140/70 tyre and fitting the 42 tooth rear sprocket from the R15. The gearing will then be close to the standard FZ.Originally posted by lonely_biker View PostVery true, i have searched few place in banglore this week and i couldnt find anything. Well, wont that affect the performace? Bigger sprocket means more acceleration and less top speed? Correct me if im wrong.Originally posted by iamvik View PostOne option I suggest is fitting a 140/70 tyre and fitting the 42 tooth rear sprocket from the R15.
