40 psi...is kinda high...i have seen ppl put 35...does it affect ur mileage in anyway?

            • obviously increasement but now put it back to 35 and the mileage is also decreased so is it good to have high pressure?

              • I have seen Splendor/Passion guys filling 40 psi in their rear tyres! They get good mileage, but the contact patch on their already skinny tyres is so less, they skid on even a drop of water on the road!
For my R15&Fiero F2 I fill 30 front&35 rear. Both are 2 points above the manual recommendation, but I prefer that for the ride quality with pillion.
If I'm out cornering, I prefer to keep it low.

40 is indeed high but my SVC guys put 33 only in rear tire and they instruct me also to do the same next time I go for filling. I've used 35 in my rear 2-3 times and it does gives better mileage but the road grip reduces and your bike seems to bounce rather than grip the road. I wasn't able to handle my bike as much as I can with 33 psi. I've noticed this long back and have since then reluctant to fill my tire with 33 psi only.

                  • For my unicorn, the manual says to fill 42psi for rear tyre. The stock tyres were 3.00-18 i filled like that until recently i put in new 100/90 tyre that require 32psi.With old setup,i did have some close calls on hard braking maybe it was due to higher pressure. For FZ however i always put 33

                    • Tyre pressure can affect the whole bike's performance so it has to be right. I saw many people in locality who just overfill the air in tyre to just increase the mileage.

                      • I read somewhere that its always good to fill 1 or 2 psi more than the recommended tyre pressure for bikes.

The SVC will have to look into the issue once you say that I've driven another FZ and I don't feel the vibrations I'm getting on my bike. Just ask them to seriously look into the matter.
My ODO is currently at 7300...which i think is enough to smooth out any
                          moving(means friction) engine parts...or am i wrong????

Also i have ridden other two FZ's....atleast they were smoother than mine...definitely the gears were smoother and had very less vibrations...
But everytime its the same f**@# answer by SVC....
                          dunno what to do....

Yup...thats true in a practical scenario...coz the recommended tyre pressure wudnt stay long as it decreases day by day....
But filling way more than that would result in good loss of traction which is not good and neither advisable......
of course you will get more mileage by a mere 3-4kmpl at your own self's risk....
so fill it moderately and happy riding....
                          cheers...

The vibrations start after 4000 rpm and stay on till redline...infact they increase after 6500 rpm....

And my gear shifting is smooth below 4000rpm and gears become hard
                            after 4000 rpm..
Even puzzles me what could be the reason....

but these SVC mother@$#%#! say...its normal coz FZ produces a lot of power from a small engine....hence the vibrations and hard gears...
                            i thought WTF ????
(sorry for the language...cudnt control my anger...coz i had been getting the same answer since 7 months)...
Well, I never had vibrations after 4k. Infact, I think my bike is smoother than it should be after 2nd service. The vibes start kick in from 80plus. But you won't feel a thing. I suggest you do some tuning to the engine. Don't go the SVC . Instead try yourself there is a bike tuning manual available in the site Indian Motorcycle Reviews & Bike News - **********.in by Deepak Raj
                            Reduce 1 km/hr speed, add 1second 2 ur life.

The vibration is actually the feel of the powerband kicking in. I got puzzled up when i got my bike. Soon i figured it out. And it kinda feels nice too.

                              • Gears getting harder.

I've done 13k on my fz16 and it has gicen no problems till last week. For about i month me and my friends have been using my bike, in an unpleasant manner. High rev shifting, using little or no clutch while shifting, etc. Now, my gear box is very stiff, and every time i hear a "chuck" while i shift. My friend also came across this problem at 12,000 kms. Any suggestions?
