Well, this guy with a silver FZ-S at the SVC station told me he's getting 68kmpl on the highway. I donno whether he's gasing me up. I have got a record high of 52kmpl during the run-in period of the bike. After that its been downhill, now i'm getting 38-40 max(power tuned).Originally posted by vinchel View Post

Oh thanks alot. And besides, i have been using motul for sometime, and last service i completly forgot to tell them not to change the oil, so they used yamalube. That must be the problem.Originally posted by leadpb View PostI think the gear spring (i dont know the exact term) would have gone. Costs may be 10-20 rs.
Also, when did you change the Oil?? The Engine is oil is also used to lubricate the gears. High revving would have degraded the quality of the oil. You can try that also.

fazer
i know this is an FZ-16 forum but since i couldnt find any such forum for fazer, im posting my queries here.
i recently bought my fazer (and im lovin it
) . now the thing is, the twin headlights do not get switched on together. one of them has been designed form low beam, the other one for high beam. Has any you guys tried to get both the lights working at the same time? i mean i spoke to the yamaha showroom guys and they said they wouldnt be able to do it from their end.

dont do this as that will cause warranty lapse
secondly try to keep that switch in between and it may help to switch on both the lights some people are doing this to switch on both the lights

i suggest you dont use both the headlamps together since FAZER already have dual horns,it might take a toll on the batt, instead change the low beam to OSRAM nightbraker 55w!Smoke rubber, not tobacco.

@above..
congrats on the new beast
the speed is at 4.5k in 5th gear is approx around 55-60..but you have to keep in mind that rpm is the one to check not speed..
Ps: this is the forum for fz16,fz-s and fazer combined due to the similarities b/w the machines..signature not found..

Last month I changed the front fork oil seal for my FZs n the oil leakage stopped.... unfortunately now in a month time, the leakage has begun... I bought this 6 month old bike second hand so dont know if the service guys didnt put the seal properly or is there a possibility that the shock is damaged???I'd rather be fast than invisible!!!!!
Bikes previously owned n models
Honda 50cc 97 - scooter
Honda MTX 50 - off road
Suzuki TS 125s - Scrambler
Honda XRV 750 Africa Twin - The massive adventure bike, tourer, off roader n dessert stallion.

Good for you. 56kmpl on the highways. I shall try hard and break your record. I can tell u its hard to drive the bike in economy with 45-50km speed. Everytime I see another bike overtaking, the testosterone in the bike goes up and the bike "talks" to me : Let's take this one out."/ I used to be a good guy earlier with my Hero honda pleasure scooter always driving at 45km minus. But then fz 16 came and now I can say that my minimum speed is 70 and economy speed 80.Originally posted by nand15 View PostYup that would be ME , i got 56kmpl , but put into account it was highway riding with the number of gearshifts easily countable on the fingers of the hand . but i generally get around 51 or 52 kmpl on the highway . my bike's pretty stubborn on the city , whichever way i ride it , economical or rip , it doesn't give me anything more or less than 43kmpl . i've tried it .
I do agree with k2cool anyways , didn't really get the bike for it's mileage now , did we ? the high mileage on those bikes maybe due to the skinnier rear tire and some tuning .Reduce 1 km/hr speed, add 1second 2 ur life.

okay bro , have a good go at it ... well for the city ride , speeds are inversely proportional to traffic ...
