The fairing does help guiding the air blast towards your helmet rather than directly on your chest....

if you are wearing a good aerodynamic helmet than certainly the drag reduces and helps you glide on your fazer

    • what abt the tiny windshield on the FZS?does it improve the aerodynamics compared to the FZ16?

        Hey Denzil,
        Sorry for the late reply,
My Fazer has a twin Blue and white Colour,

and yes at times i do feel pain in the wrists,
last week i went around the highway for around 45-55 kms nonstop,
Upon reaching my destination my wrists were stressed.

see its like comparing the full fairing of ninja, half fairing of Fazer and semi fairing of FZ-S

so each one functions for sure.....but the one on FZ-S is hardly effective....

          • Does Engine oil level make any difference in ease of gear shift ..??

            Hi Guys ,

I had noticed one thing recently .. Had done 6500 Kms on my bike and did 3 services . I was using synthetic oil worth 620 bucks till now

Gear shift was a bit hard on my bike.. and False neutrals were there occasionally. On Third service I asked svc not to change my Engine OIL and I did it myself after the service .

I can see that When I poured the 1.1 L synthetic oil fully , the engine was filled and it came more than the Max level on the DIp Stick. I just left it like that..

And surprisingly after riding 25 + Kms , the Gear shift started getting slick smooth with the tak tak sound while shifting also gone .

Does Filling engine oil has any effect on gear shifts ..??? is the components lubricated by the same engine oil ..??

            • because AFAIK there is no separate gear oil used in motorcycle drive train.....

the same engine oil also acts as transmission lubricant.

hmm.. Then I think , SVC guys were not filling the oil properly till now , or they were not pouring the entire content . I suggest that everyone should be doing the oil change on their own or at least be with your bike when it is done.

It has been a significant change both in gear shifts and drivability , when I did it my self by pouring the entire content

I thought the Fazer's handle is well sorted out ergonomically-till now I was only used to R15 owners initially cribbing about wrist/back pains!

Again a noob question : Do handle grips help in anyway, my hands were soft earlier, now rough and hard skin just below the finger and the palm joint.
I commute Mira Road - Andheri daily , some 24 kms, and at times my palms do feel num during the ride. May be I grasp the bar too tight or something.
If grippers do help, any specific ones to use

                                1. Will using a k & n filter increase the performance and also mileage ( I have heard that the mileage increases 10% )
                                2. Can I change the seat and fit a more comfortable seat ( a split or continous , I want the back seat to be comfortable. )
                                3. And finally, Is it possible for cosmetic upgradation to the mighty fz-1 ? What would be the exact cost.

                                2. Split ones look ugly on FZ
                                3. Well, might be possible, but will definitely ruin the original killer looks of the bike! Just my opinion.
does k and n air filter cause some problem to the warranty of the bike

i guess should do after the completion of the warranty period

sound or the firing of the bike increases
                                firing becomes loud

attaching k and n air filter must be done from expert who knows the proper method of installation
other wise it would make your bike miserable

                                ya wrist pains

                                because of hard throttle

i feel handle grip would not make the throttle smooth

handle grippers makes throttle grip too thick
check if its comfortable to you

                                i haven't installed it yet
i am comfortable with my thin grips
