Another mileage report!!! Filled 4 litres of normal petrol. Kept speeds above 60km/hr. Maximum 75-90km/hr and minimum 63km/hr. ON highway and in city. Mileage is 43. Thats one advantage of this bike . U can zoom by greater than 80 plus speeds and still achieve a 40 mileage. So have any of you got similar figuresReduce 1 km/hr speed, add 1second 2 ur life.

Obsession to Mileage still continues

, that stat will rise some envious looks from other FZ owners
. But in this thread no one other than you seems to be bothered about mileage

dude i guess it's just you an me in the epic battle of THE MILEAGEOriginally posted by nand15 View PostYup that would be ME , i got 56kmpl , but put into account it was highway riding with the number of gearshifts easily countable on the fingers of the hand . but i generally get around 51 or 52 kmpl on the highway . my bike's pretty stubborn on the city , whichever way i ride it , economical or rip , it doesn't give me anything more or less than 43kmpl . i've tried it .
.
. i've ripped past three digits too , it's still the same u can try it ...
P.S : Feels funny quoting my own post .

Oh nice to know you are nearing your targets.. I used to get around 45-47 during the run-in period .I was conscious about the mileage then .Only used to rip when necessary and 4.5k barrier was rarely breached.Originally posted by vinchel View PostAnother mileage report!!! But in the process of my bike passing 1k I was in so much love with the machine that I hardly care about the mileage it gives me now.. I now ride so that i enjoy my 4.5km to college everyday instead of worrying about mileage..
PS:Now I'm calculating mileage again with no changes to my riding style ie occasional bursts of 70-80 and an average speed of 40. Ill tell you when my 2ltrs of fuel gets over..signature not found..

Ya thats becos squeezing 65 mileage from a bike offering 60 plus mileage is not a great thing.
But squeezing 50 plus mileage from a performance bike offering 40 minus can be considered great.

now a days am constantly reaping more than 40kmpl out of the fz...
wat i do is ride sanely when driving to wrk or some other chores u see and wen am with my frnds rip it and go crazy wen i wanna ....works out to gr8 effect try it....like this time got 425kms on 10 lits of fuel...
till date since buying the bike:
Total Money spent on fuel. = Rs 6600
Total lits of fuel at Rs 48.06 a liter = 137.3
Amount in the bike still (including reserve)=1.4(reserve)+ 0.9(approx)= 2.3lits
So total fuel consumed = 135lits
Total Kms done = 5300kms
Mileage = 5300 / 135 = 39.25kmpl...
am quite happy and this figure was 37kmpl last time i did the same calculations....

sigpicGirls are like roads, more the curves, more the dangerous they are.
To ride or not to ride?? is a....
very very stupid question....

To Mileage Freak
I don't really understand you calling FZ a performance bikeOriginally posted by vinchel View PostYa thats becos squeezing 65 mileage from a bike offering 60 plus mileage is not a great thing.

. Yeah it do look like a performance bike
. The power is almost same and it is approximately 15 kg less even so
.

I have found that the mileage on reserve is more than when in ON . but i'm not sure if the position of the fuel tap has anything to do with it ...Originally posted by umeshkumawatsa View PostHi guys
This is a very interesting question that does on and res affect the mileage i have noticed two times that during on and i am getting higher average while during res i am getting low average and the driving style is the same on both

Oh!! Even I rode to & back from Thane to CST via East express highway last friday at midnights & I did above 100 kmph most of d time but I was a bit scared due to very limited illumination by my headlights especially on high beams.Originally posted by vinais View Post500 bucks for the bulb and they set it up for free. Was travelling from thane back to Ghatkopar on the eastern express highway around 10 PM and was very much feeling the difference, and enjoying it!
