For clarification, does the problem occur both when from cold start (after a long stop) and hot start (after a short stop)? If it is both, most likely it is a vacum lock problem. In that case, the fuel tank cap must be cleaned thoroughly with kerosene or petrol to clean the breather hole. If it doesn't work, change the cap.
No problem with a cold start! Bike starts normally! The problem is occurring only after giving it a short stop for say about 15min-40min!!

you are kidding rite??? what's the top speed you have attained before?
i have managed to attain that speed only once in a fully crouched position, kilometers of open stretches on NH7 which took ages to reach that speed...
is your bike modified?

I have applied grease to my chain which has started to rust. The ride was very tough without lubrication and this has somewhat improved.
Should I go to the service centre and apply the chain spray? what would be the cost?
If I were to buy motul chain clean is it ok?Reduce 1 km/hr speed, add 1second 2 ur life.

Buddy Motul chain clean & lube is the best bet you can get... but the cost is really high...Originally posted by vinchel View PostI have applied grease to my chain which has started to rust. The ride was very tough without lubrication and this has somewhat improved.

Clean the chain with kerosine/diesel/shampoo and apply MAK/Pennzoil SAE140 gear oil for lubing the chain... it's cost is 88Rs/- which i am using for 10K kms which is a VFM thing... it will last almost 200+kms for each use...
500ml bottle will last more than 4 months and the effect is really good... try it you will like it... if not go for Motul chain clean & lube...

More clarification required:Originally posted by soumya_digi View PostNo problem with a cold start! Bike starts normally! The problem is occurring only after giving it a short stop for say about 15min-40min!!
Do you mean:
a) the bike stops on its own while riding. Just before the engine stops it feels as though there no more petrol.
b) the bike does not restart easily after stopping for 15 - 40 minutes once the engine is hot. The bike does not stop on its own.

The chain spray from the SVC will cost around 150/-Originally posted by vinchel View PostI have applied grease to my chain which has started to rust. The ride was very tough without lubrication and this has somewhat improved.

Better to buy a chain lube for "O" ring types, may be Motul or Yamalube itself and re-apply every 400-500 km or when you see chain dry. I haven't tried greese or any other oiling substance.Stabl'ised by: BlackCat (FZ-16), BlackBird (ThunderBird)

sounds odd bro..is it just after aservice? then I definitely say that you your service guy has screwd it.Originally posted by soumya_digi View PostHi guys,
Recently I'm facing some engine ignition issues. My bikes fails to start after a long ride n then 15-20mins of rest. Whereas it doesn't face any problem when the engine is cold!
Also a *beeeep* sound is coming (like R15 start-up) when the self start is pressed for long!
Have done 9,000+ kms..
Try Cleaning the spark plug and the battery water.. Btw, I too face start hikups, but only in the morning. Is it the same with you guys?

Ya man...u wudnt want ur bike to stall in the middle of highway at all....its so much dangerous and embarrassingOriginally posted by Binoy View PostOh it will be terrific if the bike stops in the middle of the traffic...

i haven't come to such a problem on my bike...
@Novice as per you statement i would recommend you to give the bike for servicing at another SVC or take to a good mechanic and check the carb is tunned properly...
it seems the A/F ration is bit lean that's why the bike don't starts even after 3 or more cranks...
when i give my bike for servicing i will tell the supervisor never(say BOLDLY
) fiddle with the carb tuning...

.....
But do u think it cud be the carb tuning at fault....coz the performance as well as mileage have come down...
I thought both are inversely proportional
