      I say whiter is brighter!
Insted of measuring CFL's, doppler effects and usless arguments open ur eyes and see the whitness of NB's..
They are white though not as much as HID..But the pal clearly stated that white meant illegal.
So again I say the best suited thing would be Osram NB at 1600 INR!

But please do not forget that yellow is much more helpful in rain&foggy conditions-the reason why manufacturers refrain from putting pure white lights!
A good choice would be all weather bi-xenons though, if you can lay your hands on them!

          You are right..
Yellow lights are allrounder. Though laying hands on bi-xenon is a tough task I ate kg's of dust just to find bi's.

          Xenons are available there?
I hope The Osram NB can do good in rain, though never tested it!

fz16 gives a mileage of about 35km/l n rtr beats fz16 in this because of the Tyre n the body weight....

see here is the comparison based on the given parameters:

1.Mileage...rtr wins by a mile...the large rear tire of the fz16 which gives it the stability is a main cause of the low fuel efficiency.

2.powerful riding exp: i test drove both these bikes bfr buyin last month and the fz16 torque is by far the best in the 150cc category...even the rtr does not match it....

3.looks: the fz has a naked look while the rtr is a sports bike i guess with the new fins and stuff...so depends on ur frnd what he likes...

4.city driving: the low ridin bike with the powerful torque and the wide handle bars make fz a better city commuter than the rtr...

finally it all comes down not to ur requirements but to ur heart ....tell him to go for the bike that he believes he wants and not go for a compromise...only then will he njoi the ride...

edit: seating is also a gr8 feature in this bike as it erect posture and is brilliant for city riding....

No offenses to any owner here but the RTR is a puller!
It pulls and pulls and pulls...
So at least its better if you're talking bout acceleration!

1)what about the engine refinement & smoothness in both the bikes???
2)which bike has got the best headlamps???
3)many fz owners and r15 owners were complaining that the rims are soo delicate they cant withstand big patholes they would bend easily. Is this really true???

                      .
1)My bro has RTR and i hav FZ....FZ's engine refinement and smoothness is way better than RTR...In RTR is refined,it revs crazy and never misses a beat..but you will feel high vibrations in the handlebar once you get passed 5000rpm..FZ is smooth at all speeds..
                      .
2)i felt both the head lamps have equal spread and reach..
                      .
3)FZ's rim spokes looks thin..i have my FZ for more than a year and done 12000+kms..i have ridden in all bad roads and my rims are fine..

                        Fz16 is stable than rtr.

& the main problem in rtr is vibrations.

my friends mind is now fully on fz16

guys fazar and fz-16 are same in engine specs right?

then it should be the FZ!
the RTR will beat the FZ only after the 60-70kmph mark and dont worry FZ isnt all that bad in the highways,i regularly do long rides with my FZ along with a P200 and a R15( i even ride my friends R15)and i have no complaints!
abt the alloys,i havnt had this prob yet,but yes YAMAHA has weaker rims than the rest.
the Headlamp on both the bikes are the same....but do note that pillions on FZ(unless its thin and fit babes )wont find much comfort.

basically id say if your commuting 60% of the time go for FZ and if your doing highway rides 60% of the time then go for the RTR180!

FZS has a better/diff. paint job(in terms of looks),with the plastic parts on the side also in black color and yeah a tiny windshield, which IMO looks good and i THINK it does improve the speedo visibilty.
                              these are the only diff.!

oh btw i forgot to mention that i have never experienced any vibrations at any speed!
and ask you friend to make sure that YAMAHA fits the extra rear mudguard(free of cost, only labor charge)
and convey a good luck to your friend!
