what grade semi syth did you use?PSN is using 15w50 for the FZ even though 20W40 is what is recommended!maybe thts the reason your engine over heated!??

Used semi syth of Yamaha lube, grade-15w50. May be by this reason my engine gets over heated..

    • Made some modification on few months back-

Green cotton filter - result is superb
R15 sprocket - nice initial pickup

After that reported some main problems -

1). Milage, getting 30-34 in city drive and in highway 23 while driving in 70-80 km

Solution : as told by service manager, i need to change to stock filter.

2). Engine over heating. (AFR corrected)
      3). Fork jerk.

Solution : changed the oil, oil seal and reseted

After all this will getting my bike on today..

Did you get the carburetor rejetted..
AFAIK changing to free flow airfilter will not change the mileage more than 2 or 3
what was your mileage before the airfilter.?
may be ur engine is overheating because of not rejetting..
change the oil to semi synthetic or synthetic ...

Before fitting green filter, my mileage was 42-43, after that when i changed to green, iam getting 38 till my 4th service. On 4th service, i told them that there is some missing happens, so they told me by cleaning the carb it will be ok. After that i given my bike 4 time for carb cleaning. Till now mileage problem not yet solved. I taken this issue with Yamaha senior guys @ Cochin. Yesterday they came to check my bike. And the problem is Yamaha is not allowing to modify in stock bike. Yesterday senior guy told me that filter changing is not allowing by them.

Already changed to semi synth (Yamaha Lube) but only for 2 days i got a smoothness in my bike.

around 200 kms before my 2nd service my gears started getting rough,it was hard to shift down to 2nd and 3rd,i dint mention this for the 2nd service since i thought it was because my oil needed a change, but yest even after filling semi synthetic i have the gear prob, does the oil take time to start working or something?or shud i check the gear issue with them?

                  thank you
regarding this issue, today i went to the SVC,the guy test ride it and said, the clutch is tight mostly coz the chain tightness was adjusted, but then i said i had this prob even before the service, then he was like,hmmm...the clutch assembly is showing some probs,if it persists we will replace it!...so i said ill check and come back next week!

too bad its jst been 2k km's and clutch assembly is damaged?...has anyone had this prob?

Even my bike's gears were hard immediately after it was serviced.....
When i showed it to the SVC guys he fiddled with the clutch assembly and
                    it became somewhat smooth....

But they are still a little hard and there are frequent false neutrals....
                    Seriously man...these SVC are pathetic...

they dont know wats wrong with the bike....damn...
                    cheers.....

                      • Gear box notchy

                        Hello all,
Been a month knowing the "Lord". My first bike and its been very good (if not excellent). However only one snag which a few of you have faced. The gear box is quite notchy for me too and for me its from Neutral to 1st and from 1st to 2nd. Told this problem to the SVC (Pacer Motors B'lore) during 1st Service (run 723 Kms) and they said they'll fix it. Had a few other issues with the HL focus and the rear view mirrors, both of which were done very nicely. When I took the bike back home, I was impressed with the gear shifts too. Felt awesome and the butter smooth that many have said. But then I decided to take a longer route back home (wish I didnt) and then after 6-7 kms i found the gears becoming notchy. Sometimes its very difficult to get into 1st (had to move fwd a couple of inches for it to slot into place). And almost always I land in N when going from 1st to 2nd.

Has anyone found a solution to this. Any one suspect this with the gears itself or the pedal or the clutch or just my bad luck

                            • My FZ16 Performance and Experience

                              Hi Guys,

I am from Bangalore, I bought my FZ16 in April 2009, and till now 3 free services has been done, but i dont feel exact performance of the bike with respect to initial pickup, top end or the mileage, it will take atleast 6sec to reach 0-60Kmph, top end i have reached only 111Kmph and mileage dont ask, hardly 33Km/Ltr i ride my bike in an average speed of 60-70Km/Hr, is there something technical problem in the bike or servicing not been done properly or something else i need to look for. Would like to get some sugession on this.

                              Thanks
                              Mohana.R
