    Try tuning the bike toward less power and more mileage to get increased mileage. The svc should do it for free. I have done it before 2nd service, and I get 44kmpl when driving rough, in city at 55-60km/hr and get 54kmpl in driving at economy. The pickup is not great after tuning.
    Reduce 1 km/hr speed, add 1second 2 ur life.

      same here friend....

      even i am getting a consistent mileage of 32-35 kmpl......Its disgusting....

      i mean even pulsar 180 gives more mileage with a better power delivery....

        ^ dunno about u guys but my bike has been returning 38kmpl watever i do....
        ripped it ..drove it on economy...every single time 38kmpl on the dot....wierd but not exaggerating.....

        Always fill Rs 500 ka petrol which works out to 10.2 lits...always the trip ends at round 387kms to 390 kms...never below that...have had 1 service and done 2400kms on the odo...

              Mine is a similar problem....
              Dunno guys....but maybe they are factory made pathetically....
              Whatever tuning i do or drive sanely or insanely...it just returns figures of 34-36....
              No pick up...even a hero honda passion races me to the finish line with me licking its tyre marks(forget the finish line)...
              And dont even think about top end...my bike doesnt know the number above 102kmph.....
              Maybe its in its blood.

                I chkd with svc guys here in chennai abt changing to R15's sprockets thy confirmed tht there will be diff in Intial & top end as well.

                Thy also told changing only the rear one to R15 will do ..

                Price for the rear is 270 Rs in here .....

                    even i talked to some senior tech guys (r1 service plp)frm delhi ,said it wont fit
                    i think only way to know if its true if Swas posts some pics soon)

                      At 1st technician's told me that R15 sprocket won't fit in FZ, but the service manager (Long experience with Yamaha, earlier he was working with Dubai Yamaha ) told me that it will fit without any mods.. Changed both front and rear, chain is same of FZ.

                              Hey Ranjith, Thanks for the info. Trying my best to cross 1k asap. Is there anything I can do to make sure nothing's wrong otherwise with the gear assembly. Sorry if I sound a bit Paranoid but the change from smoothness to notchy was too abrupt, Hence the question.
                              Everyone falls down, doesn't matter...
                              But its how fast you get up, that matters.....

                                guys i filled my FZ for 500rs/10.2 litre of petrol...& it came to reserve at 302kms....that means wats the milage it is giving????
