My first paid service expense:Originally posted by RanjithMN View PostComplain to YAMAHA if they are over charging you. Also argue with your SVC and if you are out of warranty and know your Ride well and what to do,stick to a local mech.Much Much cheaper.
Engine oil: Rs. 450
Oil filter: 35
Paid service: Rs. 450
Clutch O/H: Rs. 150
Brake O/H: 75
Chain lubrication: Rs. 135
Consumables: Rs. 50
Tax: Rs. 59.56
Service Tax: Rs. 88.69
Total: Rs. 1435
That means I have to spend ~Rs. 9000 a year from now on to maintain the bike. Way too high. I spend less that Rs. 6000 a year on maintaining my car.
I am seriously thinking of giving SVC a miss and find some local mechanic.
Do you guys think I should worry too much about the warranty (will be over in another 10 months)?

Why wasting fuel by setting the idle rmp at 2000k you should not be set when the engine is cold set it after you ride for some time when the engine is warm ride for sometime and whrn the engine is warm set the idle rpm between 1200 and 1500k it will be easy when the engine is warmOriginally posted by rohit.110689 View Postminor figures like 1400 rpm can never be acheived on our bike as the display is too small.. so it is set to around 1500rpm... and even if it is set so after riding the bike for some time the rpm shoots to almost 2000 rpm, hence i said that my rpm is set at almost 2000.

Guys in our service manual on page 6-13 its written than the front tyre pressure is to be 29psi but on the page 8-2 its written 28psi
both on cold tyre
is this mistake in my service manual only or every manual is like that
I too am waiting eagerly on the review of the big bore kitLast edited by Sunjay Kumar; 08-10-2011, 04:43 PM.

One more bill where I see paid service as 450 Rs. Why are you guys paying so much for a paid service? Raise your voice if the SVC guys dont budge. It should be around 200-250 Rs and not more than that for regular service.Originally posted by jit_j_thomas View PostMy first paid service expense:

For general service I always take my bike to SVC for all other works I take it to my trusted mechanic who is far more capable of identifying issues and fixing them as compared to the SVC guys.

White smoke from exhaust may because of water getting into the exhaustOriginally posted by khalidkh1 View PostMy Yamaha FZ is giving smoke from exhaust.... jst rode 15500kms....wat should i do?????????
on cold starts i have seen smoke coming from the exhaust when the bike has been in rain(water getting into the exhaust and reacting with the catalytic converter) nothing to worry or
oil leaking into to cylinder during combustion also shows smoke from the exhaust
please specify under what conditions did you see smoke
did you see white smoke or black

I don't think there is a quick fix better leave the bike a SVC and they rectify the problem..Originally posted by neermsc View Postguys i am havin a few problems with my FZ......the starter and electricals have gone dead....my battery is new...a couple of months old...done 13500kms....dunno what to do...the svc guys dont have a clue...they want me to leave my bike there for a day....any quickfix?.
