isn't the idling supposed to be 1400 ?Originally posted by rohit.110689 View Posthow can i shift down at 2k.. the idling is already adjusted to almost 2k.. So the bike while running hardly ever comes to 2k rpm... and then at around 3k the knocking starts coming in !!

minor figures like 1400 rpm can never be acheived on our bike as the display is too small.. so it is set to around 1500rpm... and even if it is set so after riding the bike for some time the rpm shoots to almost 2000 rpm, hence i said that my rpm is set at almost 2000.Originally posted by jkhan69 View Postisn't the idling supposed to be 1400 ?

Bro, ask for a detailed service charge list. Last week when I went to Kamla Yamaha, Mumbai to get my chain sprockets replaced I saw a big list (a big hoarding to be precise) of all the service charges mentioned in that. When I saw the labor for chain sprocket replacement 120 Rs I asked him why he is charging me 150 Rs. He said that the list in an year old and Yamaha haven't provided them with the latest list and the prices have gone up.Originally posted by deville_56 View PostHere also they charge 225 for paid service charge, but in the above mentioned list he listed fork overhaul charge 450 separately, so this 495 should be paid service charge, believe. Pleas enlighten me. Because I get everything separately listed in my bill.
That list had detailed labor charges of all the worked which can be performed on our bikes. Your SVC will also have a similar list from Yamaha which they are not sharing to everyone. Demand for that list and pay as per the charges mentioned there. Also there can be 10-15% difference as Yamaha might not had provided them updated one. But atleast you can see what all they are charging about.
Also can you scan and put up your bill here?? We can have a look at the charges and which might help others too.

My friend , When you pull the clutch in your RPM can even fall to zero ... so you most definitely can shift down at 2K RPM ...Originally posted by rohit.110689 View Posthow can i shift down at 2k.. the idling is already adjusted to almost 2k.. 495 Rs for service labor is too much. It should not be more than 200 Rs. Check your previous bills and take them with you to the SVC and demand an explaination. Also 180 Rs for chain lubrication is a complete loot. Better buy a WD40 can for chain cleaning and 90 Grade Oil for Chain lubrication. I am using both of them and trust me.....its very economical. Only problem is that you need to do all this by yourself and will consume some time and efforts.Originally posted by nand15 View PostMy friend , When you pull the clutch in your RPM can even fall to zero ... so you most definitely can shift down at 2K RPM ...

Chain lubing in Bombay Yamaha Pro Biking Centre costs Rs. 100. So judging by that, this bill definitely looks over-priced.Originally posted by nand15 View PostMy friend , When you pull the clutch in your RPM can even fall to zero ... so you most definitely can shift down at 2K RPM ...

Aaah the familiar look of Pacer Yamaha's exorbitant prices...Originally posted by nand15 View PostCouldn't scan the bill , but have put it up as an attachment ... check it out guys
495 for labour charges is normal at Pacer... Jus last week had been there n clearly told them that i want only a General Service n the bill to be a bare minimum... n alas wen the bill came it was Rs 1100 with a lot of their own additions
. . I even took my own can of Chain clean and lube to save the 180Rs. . No point saying anythin to these guys!!! Period.

Why dont you guys avoid that SVC and report it to Yamaha? You will surely get a positive reply from them. Charging 495 Rs labor by that SVC is simply not acceptable as compared to 200 Rs what everyone pays.Originally posted by Shad0w View PostAaah the familiar look of Pacer Yamaha's exorbitant prices...

Also do remember one thing. SVC is not allowed to change any parts or charge you without your permission. They will always ask you first what needs to be done in your bike and you should always specify them and ask them to stick to what you have said.

Complain to YAMAHA if they are over charging you. Also argue with your SVC and if you are out of warranty and know your Ride well and what to do,stick to a local mech.Much Much cheaper.Smoke rubber, not tobacco.
