Hi,

Guys,

I am shifted to Chennai couple of months back. I live near SRM university in potheri.. can you please suggest me a yamaha svc near by??
I couldnt find any

the one on OMR wil be the closest to you....i live at tambaram...and my roommate who got a FZ find that one to be the closest ! ! !

guys yesterday I met with a accident so my Fz16's front fender,right side of headlamp full scratched,right side tank cover scratched,handlebar bend,exhaust cover shattered.what should I do??directly buy them or claim insurance?today I brought the front fender for 408 rs.
Actually due to rain I slipped on mud at night 10.15pm.Please help me fast guys...Or wait for the FFE from joel & keep the shattered sxhaust cover for the mean time??

Hey sad to hear abou that... see if you are buying the FFE soon enough then i don't see any point of replacing the shattered exhaust cover.. not that they cost much... Joel usually ships the consignment after 2 weeks from the date of acknowledgment of the amount received (FFE+shipping) for the same. so if you do have the budget then please do go ahead and make the purchase...

but as far as the other parts are concerned... please do make the necessary replacement asap.

So I should replace the other parts from my side,& get the ffe from joel & I will get it personally from him next month as I also stay in bangalore,only that I dont know how much it will cost,do u kno???..So other parts insurance claim is not necessary???

headlamp cost 900rs (should be covered full by insurance) (650 if you can find a duplicate one from normal spare shops)
fron fender 408rs (half of the amount will be covered by the insurance)
handle bar 120rs or so (should be covered full)
exhaust caover 130rs (for the siver one) 80 rs (for the black one (half of the amount will be covered by the insurance)

insurance will refund approx 900+200+120+100+ labour charges but you will lose out on your no claim bonus next year which will be somewhere around 20% and will amount to around rs 200.

if you want to change your headlight i think you should clain insurance but rather ask the svc first as to how much of the amount will be refunded back to you....

otherwise you will be better off without the insurance claim as it takes a lot of hassle you wont be able to ride your bike for at least 1-2 weeks.
and there after the insurance money will come only after 2-3 months...

now i think you can take the call....
