First paid service

Hey guys now my bike Yamaha fazer is more than a year old ,actually 1yr 4months old and its time for its paid service ,yeah its true I did miss its first paid service date,anyway I plan to take it soon for service.

I didnt feel the need for service as my bike had run less than 1500Km

in more than 1 year,so quite less of riding and I have changed the engine oil twice and the oil filter as many times.

One more thing ,my bike ran on choke perhaps for 200Km or more,so there should be some carbon deposit on the spark plug ,should I replace it ,how much would it cost.

And whats the usual charge for paid service (if no parts are changed and no engine oil,just the service) for Yamaha Fazer.

I don't think you will get any free service, it could have been lapsed by now.
Yesterday I did the first paid service for my bike, the item 'General Service' in the bill coasted Rs:250/-
Please remember that it wont include cleaning and lubing of your chains.. for that you have to pay additional amt.

Engines must be serviced at regular interval in whatever case it may be even if it has not covered the specific kilometers.It's good that you have changed the oil+filter each time possible.

Spark plug change would not be recommended as of now,but yes do get checked it at the SVC or check out the thread in forum about Spark Plug,it'll be very helpful in guessing out the need to get it replaced.

yes.. those levers are amazingly good looking.. they also had the engine guard made of fiber, But I didn't want one since it will affect the naked look of the bike

Fz dedicated engine gaurd??if yes can u post some pic??Hope that the guard is not the gladiator one..

LOL ^ Actually no manufacturer has made FZ dedicated engine guard AFAIK. I searched for it like crazy,but failed miserably.

Its not the gladiator one.. They told me, they brought it there due to constant demand from the FZ owners.. I never saw one fitted to bike.. I doubt they look bad with FZ

yamaha should look forward at this point as every other companies ate also getting their bikes with engine guard.Fz needs some fresh update except for paint scheme..

Would it be good to clean the chain with kerosene/diesel and lube it with some chain lube? Would it harm the chain? What do u prefer?

Fazer- not starting

experts, need your help...i was out of station for the last two weeks, came home today morning...bike was idle in that time...now, when i try to start my bike, console is dead blank and the engine red light blinked for few seconds and went to dead state again..two weeks before, i just emptied the tank and put it in reserve (few ml of pertrol was there in tank though)...now console itself is not starting...my bike completed 31K km and around 1.5 yrs old...
any quick things to do to recover it? please help..
