the best part of FZ is you can change the color of the bike whenever you want in just 2000rs (500+500(petrol tank covers) + 400 (front fender) + 200 +200(air scoops)) and one hour....Timon: Orange Yamaha FZ16 2009

engine cover is not for cooling the engine its just a showpiece the actual cooling is done by your air scoops.Originally posted by abhijitkn View PostThanks a lot....but looking at it wondering how much it is affective for the engine cooling...mostly for the long rides....
by the design i think it wont overheat the engine during long ridesTimon: Orange Yamaha FZ16 2009

Here you go...
Here is what they say.....Originally posted by abhijitkn View PostThanks a lot....but looking at it wondering how much it is affective for the engine cooling...mostly for the long rides....
Unless you are driving in 40 degrees celsius temperatures engine does not overheat due to fitting it.
In the rains it would protect the engine from water sprays. (Is this a problem????)

I want to attach red strip on rims as FZS from Yamaha showroom, please tell me how much it will cost? I have FZ16.
Also a previously posted question that is not answered->
Would it be good to clean the chain with kerosene/diesel and lube it with some chain lube? Would it harm the chain? What do u prefer?

I personally use WD40 for cleaning chain....it does advice not to use it for lubing.....but for cleaning it is the best you can get....you should see the dirt dripping down from main stand when the bike is in gear and on main stand.....all the dirt is gone and removed very well with WD40...after cleaning the chain becomes dry within 10minutes or 15 minutes max.....now you need to lube it for protecting the clean dry chain against corrosion and dirt.....Originally posted by alto View PostI want to attach red strip on rims as FZS from Yamaha showroom, please tell me how much it will cost? At times you can make use of OKS chain spray which is a cleaner and lubricant in all...i mean you dont get to see the chain is clean unless you wash it next time but yes under that thick layer of lubing the chain is clean and free from dirt!!!
Kerosene is there but you need a brush too..and then starts the backache and time consuming process....instead put your vehicle on mainstand...engage the bike in 2 or 3rd gear and spray WD-40 for complete two rotations and see how dirt and unwanted materials start dripping!!!!sigpic
Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.
