              1) Tight Accelerator cable: The previous owner may have not bothered to lube and overhaul the accelerator and clutch cables... Recommendations: get them lubed and oiled properly and then see.. if you still find it hard then get it checked once at the SVC.. Since, the bike is over 1.5 years old and assuming the previous owner kept it exposed to the rain and outdoor weather, i would recommend replacing with new set of cables. won't cost you more than 300-350 bucks for both.

              2) Mileage issue: Most common and irritating problem amongst users... Reasons can be many:

              a) improper tire pressure (correct pressure 28psi - front & 33psi- rear)
              b) dirty oil and filter (lack of periodic maintainence = engine parts not getting lubricated properly = engine not performing tasks efficiently = low mileage)
              c) excessive chain slack ( as a result, engine power not being able to be transferred efficiently to the rear tire)
              d) Not following the proper engine break in procedure (i.e. initial 1000 kms run-in)
              e) improper riding habits(red lining the engine all the time and being on lower gears more than required!!)
              f) AFR (Air to fuel ratio in the carburetor not correct!)

If you have taken care of all other points except the last one then the most probable culprit is carburetor AFR on richer setting.. i.e. engine is getting more fuel in comparison to air in the combustion chamber making the bike feel more gruntier however the FE drops ridiculously low...

the most easiest way to find out is to check the colour of the electrode of the spark plug. if the colour is black or there is black gooey deposition on it, then you know that your bike's engine has been fed with excessive fuel and thus, low mileage. Tell the svc guys to tune it properly. The ideal colour of the spark plug is brown tan.

              hope this helps..

              Cheers

BTW: when are you planning to joel it fully??
              hey thanks shv,

Sorry, I was preoccupied with the office work. couldn't check the thread before.

I'll get the wire checked tomorrow, and will get other things done too.

As, Soon as I get the bike in good riding condition ... I'll get it to joel's workshop.

BTW I was told that, FFE modded bikes are not street legal. Is this true ?

Hi, i am coming back to mumbai somewhere in mid july hence i have requested Joel to ship it directly there around that time... the last time i checked, Joel anna is busy clearing a huge backlog as he has been inundated with power up kit orders from all across india..

FFEs are not street legal... however with Joel's FFE you get a removable DB killer so the decibel level stays within the limit without compromising on the performance. however, to get the maximum out of the FFE you'll have to remove the db killer... which you can do once you are off city limits or graveyard shift rides with empty streets. or the simplest tricks is to keep the revs under 4000 rpm the moment you see a traffic 'paandu' trying to hide behind a tree to make a quick buck...

why don't you take your fazer it to joel directly... if you are indeed going for full mods at one go then, you will have to upgrade to 29mm cv carburetor for proper fuelling the new 180cc big bore kit anyways... i am sure post mods you won't have complaints about the top end or the FE

                    cheers

You can claim. You have to pay 500 rs processing fee if no police case registered plus you will get only 50% for fiber parts. You have to pay out of pocket and will get back the claim amount in minimum 14 days. Insurance is worth only when there is sizeable damage.

                          • Gearshifts not butter smooth after service

After the 1st service my bike's gear was butter smooth with eventually disappeared... A couple of days back i had the 2nd service done
i thought the gear shifts will be smooth again but
it didn't happen only slight difference was there
what must have been the cause of gear shifts not being smooth
i want my butter smooth gearshifts
