Its because on miss-alignment or a bend in your rim.... My mechanic told me it can happen if the tires are not inflated properly... When i got my tyre changed i noticed the huge bend in the rim and got it fixed....

What kinshuk.arya said can also be true, check ur Tyre huger , that's the only place that is capable of hiding some debris

    • Alright folks, here I am again with my set of rants..

for past few weeks I have been noticing a dip in the pickup.. If I rev it hard (>6000) it runs alright.., but in the lower RPM range it feels like struggling to run.. With a pillion on, the stress is felt more prominently.. Despite all this, the mileage has always been >40kmpl

I have done >12000 kms on it so far and have been regular with the services. The 5th free service was done during the first week of this month. I took the bike to the SVC and the guy who serviced it last checked it and said its running normal and there is nothing wrong with the bike.

I still insisted him to check thoroughly and maintained that there is an issue. He took the bike on test ride again and when he came back, he said that with the next service, we'll need to change the clutch plate.

I still am a noob when it comes to bike internals, so couldn't really argue with him on this, but I am not sure if that would be the cause of the issue. I feel he just said it as I was nagging him too much..

I'm really getting confused now.. not sure what to do, the bike hasn't been performing as it used to, it feels like an old bike with all the parts loosened up and making noise when it runs.. I want it working back as one tight unit. All I can rely on is the SVC guys and they just don't seem to care..

I agree that I ride the bike on thrash mode most times, but whats the point in getting a Fazer, if you have to ride it on splendor mode.. I know that if I ride it hard, I need to take extra care of it, but how to do that is the problem.. money isn't a constrain, skill is..

Check the play in your chain, mostly that is the culprit (in my case) for the pick up do die out....

another issue could be the carb taking in more petrol than required which makes the bike pull slow or there may be less fuel going in..

get him to clean your air filter as there may not be sufficient air flowing in...

Alright that makes sense , yup I had been running with a mis-alignment but had it fixed during service ... so thats sorted then ... Got the oil today , sticking to Agip FS 20W50 itself ... hope it gets back to normal again , it was running beautifully for these past 4-5 months ...

If you have been on Thrash mode then yeah the clutch plates should have taken a beating ... But don't go with the SVC guys alone , there should be another mech somewhere in the vicinity right , scout em out and ask their opinion ...

The chain looks alright.. Air Filter might be the culprit though .. I think it should be changed at 12K but I do not remember that happening in any of the recent services.. Can I DIY Air filter replacement.. ? how easy/difficult is it.. ?

I was researching and got to know that the spark plug should also be changed at around 12K.. I don't think that would have anything to do with my issue.. but if I'm fixing things I might as well do it.. is there an easy way to tell if the spark plug needs to be replaced?

Yeah, even I think I should find out a good mechanic outside the SVC who can give me sane advice.. but once again, its easier said than done.. the scouting begins now..

Anyone knows a good mechanic for FZ/Fazer in Navi Mumbai area??

yes you can easily change the air filter its a very simple DIY.... only thing you need to take out is the black coloured flap at the mouth of the air filter and 5 screws....

for the inspection of the spark plugs you will have to take out the spark plug.... and inspect manually..... for the condition you can check out google.....

I had the same issue at the end of tyre's life. ASC said that it's because of low pressure.

Yes Air filter replacement is a 10 minute job ... there is a DIY for this in the DIY section in Xbhp ... check it out ...

the spark plug can take a bit more , i had mine inspected at 12K ... he said it looks perfect no need to change ... cross verified that and it's still going strong ...

that would be really bad for me if i have to change it , I've only done 14.6K kms and the centre tread and left side is just pristine ...

P.S - guys , checked my brake pads today and yeah , u guessed , they seem worn out , attaching a pic of it ... anyone tell me , how much new ones cost ... the wear indicator on one has completely disappeared and the other one has a little bit left .

Exide MF. I would like to buy Amaron or Bosch MF, but dealer not too supportive in warranty replacement here.

Yeah,Because amaron had told their dealers not to sell batteries to any other bikes other than pulsar with kick starter,A dealer at kollam told me this,so he sold me battery by writing a pulsar bikes number on the warranty card. Here he offered me 48 months warranty for the battery,If you need it, I can arrange it for you.
