Congrats and welcome to the club bro.....there will be a list of things in the service manual which yamaha recommends to be checked before delivery....it will be "PRE-DELIVERY INSPECTION REPORT" ....at end of the report where dealer would give stamp and you will agree and sign that they have checked the all the things.....Originally posted by Kirankj1724 View Postguys booked FZ-16 "black" 3 weeks ago at Panache motors Indira nagar Bangalore.. will be getting it in 2-3 days now.. is there anything in specific that i should keep in mind while taking the delivery???

thanks shv18.... At first service I put mineral oil yamahalube. The svc says on mineral it will run 1500km and on SS it will run 2500km. Is it right?Originally posted by ;622807i would say nay!!! atleast in my case, did the 1st servicing in 3 weeks after hitting 1000kms on the same engine oil... and bike after 9000+ kms is still awesome in terms of performance and decent mileage figures...
so i don't think it is needed as long as you religiously follow the manual as your bible... being gentle with the bike for the 1st 250 kms under 4000 rpm and then post 500 kms 4500- 5500 rpm and then post 750 kms not more than 6000 rpm and all throughout shifting various gears to load the engine and help it set better.
cheers

the official Fz accesories position light is rs.500 each, but no warranty so it will be better if you get the led from outside shop as 500 rs pair..Originally posted by sathishholla View PostHi Guys,
My FZ-S is nearing it's fourth free service.
Can you give suggestions as to what checks need to be done apart from the routine service ?
Also, Does anybody know how much will a LED position light cost ?
Thanks

Has anybody used Shell Advance AX7 10W40 Engine Oil ? I came across this in a shell outlet.
I want to change the engine oil to a semi synthetic one, But I am not sure if I should go for a YamaLube or buy a brand from the outside.
Any suggestions would be helpful for me. I am really naive in these area.

nothing to worry.... the break pads take sometime to set in as they also have a break in period... give it around 150km of breaking and then they will work normally...Originally posted by pritzee View Postguyz,i got my rear brake pad changed recently.for the first 2 days it was fine but since then it is making a loud noise whenever i'm braking hard specially when the pads are cold like in the morning.the noise reduces and finally goes away after a bit of riding.any idea why this is happening???
the sound also comes because of moisture in the morning...
if i am not wrong then motul has stopped manufacturing the 15w40 semi synth.....Originally posted by sathishholla View PostThanks Man!!

A strange thing happened to my FZ-S few days back when it was raining,
When I was going on a wet marble surface , The bike simply skidded and fell down, Nothing happened to me or the bike (apart from a small scratch on the crash guard ).
I know these things happen when we apply brakes on a wet area, But this time No Brakes, No gear change, nothing.. Has anybody come across this problem ?
Is there something I need to be concerned of ?
