bro i am not too sure but should be around 2.5 years.. if you are having trouble in cranking the engine or the battery is not able to retain the charge then it is time to change it.... try Bosch full maintainence free battery i have heard good reviews in my friend's circle..

        cheers

Which Motul brand do u use?

Are u using it from the first service itself? Does the svc agree on using our own brand other than YamahaLube?

                • i had a minor accident a month back while turning at traffic signal. resultant fall caused a bend in handle on left side. i have been driving with slightly bent handle for over a month now. i dont have any problems with performance or riding. i went to yamaha showroom right after the incident, where the mechanic made and estimate of Rs 2k for setting it straight. as i was reluctant to shell out the money at that time, i backed off. now my second free service is due in few days, what should I do? is it neccessary to correct the bend in handle? are the asking too much for the job?

couldn't see anything on the indicator ... can't make out if it's full or empty ...

Any general interval for change of the brake pads and fluid ?

                    • Guys, I was having some problem with the electric start of the bike from a couple of weeks first I thought it was the battery which a has gone kaput, so go it recharged twice.... but no solution the problem was still there...

today when i went to the svc to get it fixed the mechanic told me that it was not a problem of the battery but something else is faulty he changed the starting assly of the bike it is a small component placed near the battery... it cost me 250rs... the problem should such a part go bad with just 1.5 years and 11k km on the bike???

                          • my bike has almost touched 5k kms and is due for 3rd service next week. seen people here recommend SS oil after 5k kms. Should i go for it? If yes, do they give SS or should i have to purchase it?

a brand new handle bar costs only 230 bucks. no way he can quote a labour charge of ~1800 bucks. they are asking way too much.
