Guys, how is the oil filter cap to be opened? The fixed spanner is not helpful. Any other option?

Also, for changing the filter, is the oil to be completely drained or can be done without draining it?

    Cheerz!!

Use T spanner of appropriate size, the fixed spanner can damage the nut.

You need a T-Spanner of size 10 to remove the oil filter cover

Depends on the number of kms your bike has covered and the way you ride too.

Has anyone used saddle bag with a pillion rider? How much comfortable it is for the pillion especially finding the footpegs?

Have seen a FZ with saddle bag and the pillion was pretty uncomfortable sitting.

Since the pillion seat itself is pretty small, it will be very discomfort in nature for the pillion with saddle.

the problem with the pillion is to set his/her legs on the footpegs. For doing so, the saddle bag can be slided slightly towards the rear but in doing this, the bag hits the rear indicators. now what to do??

                  One more query....
When my Bike come to bumping area especially a sudden high tide kind of bump, I hear a sound from rear side as if the bike's bottom has hit the bump somewhere.
It only happens when I am with a pillion. but when i check the bottom area like the center stand console or the silencer or the engine guard, I dont find any scratches or anything which hints a collision.
Please someone shed a light on this.
                  Thank in Advance

The cat-con box between the legs of centre stand could be the culprit.
For me also it happens only with pillion over speed bumps

Thats what the issue is with the bag. If the bag is pushed back and keeps hitting the indicators, they might break. Is it necessary to push the bag? I have seen people keeping their legs over the bag and on to the foot rest.

Regarding the sound, whenever the bike passes a bump with a pillion, the exhaust pipe touches the bump and we here the sound. Thats an issue with all FZ & Fazer's. So, to avoid this, slow it down as much as you can and pass over the bump.

But this could be a serious issue sometimes.... the cat con or part of the silencer may crack or simply deform or break which will require a replacement & a huge hole in my pocket!!
Is this true for all the FZs & Fazers?
May be adjusting the rear suspension to a slightly stiffer condition will enable the suspension to play less. That could solve the problem.
or changing the rear tyre to a more thicker one heightwise (I hope u understand ) may help!!
                        what do you say?

Keeping the leg over the bag is pushing the right end of the saddle bag towards the rear tyres & it might as well come in contact with the tyre since there is no saree guard to ensure a gap or partition. This can be dangerous!!
Moreover, placing the leg over the bag can be uncomfortable on long rides.
This is all giving me nightmares

True. It will be very uncomfortable. But, the design if the bike itself is such, you cannot do anything about it. Also, i have rarely seen FZ's with the saddle bags or plastic dabbas on the side.

Well, make the suspension stiffer will give you unpleasant riding experience. Also, changing the tyre to a bigger radius will affect your FE. Mind you, the exhaust touches only when passing over the bump with a pillion, else it does not touch. So, just for passing a bump, you want to get things modified? On a simple note, just slow down your bike as much as you can and pass over the bump. It surely helps. That's how i pass the bumps with a pillion.

don't mess with the suspension settings. making it stiffer would only make your ride painful, you would regret it in the long run.
about the saddle bag, FZ is not meant for such things, as no setting or place has been provided. placing it in the extreme end could make it come in contact with the tyre and could prove disastrous.
if you have some important documents to keep, buy a tank cover, it has pockets ( but that would look ugly) or simply carry a backpack..

                              Ride safe and have fun.

Friends , my FZ-16 is due its 2nd service (it ran for 1300 KMS) , changed Engine Oil (first change) just 300 KMS ago, didn't had the chance to change the oil filter (as did the oil change myself)

So what are the things too look at, take care of while submitting the bike at SVC ?

                                Waiting for your valuable suggestions!
