All i can say is, don't risk your life by being cheap!.. Its better to spend 2800 - 3k for a tire than spending 30+k INR when admitted to a hospital because of an unforseen incident. It is a natural human tendency that we all believe, we are better riders and the 'Chalta hain' attitude which results in our biggest fall. Try this.. ride a bike with new tires may be one which has covered same kms on the ODO and then yours.. You will find a significant difference in the way suspension behaves, braking and the stopping distance plus grip. All these small things add up to your safety.. Don't compromise on safety my friend.. that's all i have to say.

    Cheers,

I am facing some misfire and backfire in my 18.5k old FZs. During ride in low rpm it backfires (a loud popup sound from the Air box), and the engine stalls. But the misfire happens only when I rev hard, and leave the throttle suddenly. Though it is not loud, but I can listen it coming from the silencer. I replaced my plug with a NGK G-Power 2k km back and the Airfilter was replaced during 12K. Spark plug also in good condition. Last service was done on week ago at my local shop & in front of me. There is no other problem in my ride, the engine is also smooth like before, the mileage is also close to 32-35 kmpl. What could be the cause?

      • Yamaha FZ - Oil Filter queries

        Hi Riders!

I have a small doubt about the Oil filter used in FZ series.

        1. Why it needs to be replaced after every 3000 kms? I mean to say if its such a vital periodically maintained component, why dont we do so in other bikes? or is it specifically important for FZ? if yes...then pls can anyone shed some light over the engineering behind it!

        2. Since we always pour fresh & clean engine oil, then whats the point to replace oil filter regularly? Just to filter the fresh engine oil only? !!!

As per the manual you can change the oil filter every 10,000 kms... however costing just 35 bucks INR i personally prefer putting a new one after every oil change.

what is the job of a filter in the first place ?
it simply filters away any residue found and makes the oil free from any particles..
ok.. and why do you change the engine oil ? simply because it losses its capability to do its work properly.. you know when the piston move, it sometimes leave some residue back in the form of very minute particles.. they could be of the metal from the piston or the cylinder or any other carbon based particle..
so when you change the oil, the previously formed particles can't be left back in the engine.. for this only we use a new filter to keep these particles from mixing back into the fresh oil..
i think this is the explanation..

              Ride safe and have fun.
              Regards

The avg is 33-35, dont you think its on the lesser side?

Do you clean your bike with water everyday? If yes, make sure the spark plug is dry. Wet spark plug causes misfiring.

After stalling, does the bike start immediately??

Running on low fuel can cause the air to enter the combustion chamber and this will make you feel as if the engine misfired.

                Cheerz!!

The oil filter helps the clean oil to circulate in the system. If periodically it is not changed or serviced, there are chances of contaminated oil getting circulated in the engine, which results drop in engine oil performance.

Also, pouring fresh oil does not mean that, the engine is absolutely clean with no dirt.

                Cheerz!!
The real beauty lies in throttle's twist!!

Guys, just saw this on my tyre. The big cut is just one. But, the small holes are there over the tyre on many places.

                    Any concerns with this?

Even I have exactly the same problem.this is due to the soft compound of the tyre.pour soapy water and check for leakages.if there are none, then ur lucky.
