The spark plug does look fine. But, 14000kms on single spark plug is an achievement i must say.

The relation between sprak plug and engine condition is that, if there is too much of carbon deposit(powdery thing) on the tip, than there are chances of the bike running on rich mixture. If the tip is white, it means, the bike is running on lean mixture. If there are hard carbon deposits, it means the oil is entering the combustion chamber.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheerz!!

Thanks, so the engine would be fine..

14K is more?? I thought spark plugs can easily do 20-30K. In the FZ manual the recommendation is every 12K. I dont think 14K is too delayed

the SVC guys normally asking to change the spark plug at 12k.. so 14 is normal..
after 14k.. such condition is normal i think so.. the plug has to face the combustion and small residue keep on filling.. if you wern't facing any prob with the engine before seeing this.. it would be fine..

        Ride safe and have fun.

Exactly, they should throw away the commuter bike mirrors.

The plug is fine , mixture is nearly perfect , a bit near the richer side . You seem to be riding in city a lot in low rpms . Also can be you were running a thinner than recomended oil during the early life of the plug . Plug wear is minimal . Clean it up , check the resistance , re-gap it and it can run another 10k kms fine . Despite what the manual says . Keep it in your tool box as spare .

                Don't buy 'em. It's a rip off.

What will be the Correct time to change Fz's Rear Tyre ?
Im with the Stock 140mm MRF tyre. My bike has done 22k kms.
Still how many kms will the tyre run with ease (i mean without loosing its grip).

Removing the rubber flap that covers the locknut, u can inspect the wire. But one can't actually check the whole wire, for that u'll have strip down the entire clutch cable. It's better to carry a spare with some tools if you tend to travel long distances. It's a DIY

there are markers in the tread which informs about usable life of the tyre. they are three consecutive lines in the tread. wheb the tyre rubs off abd the lines appear on the surface of the tread, the tyre's usable life is over. but, its not the only reason, if the tyre is cracked, more than six seven years old, the life is over.

Ok. Checked the tyre yesterday. Cracks : Nil.
Done 3 punctures myself for the Fz's rear tyre yesterday.
The Fz's tyre easily gets punctured.
Same was never the case with my Pulsar 180 Ug-4.

It's all on how well you have used the tire and how much feedback you are getting. If the threads have worn out and and is pretty bald it might not be so bad during normal riding conditions but for sudden braking or wet conditions you are guaranteed a fishtailing. So if the threads are a lil too much bald then get it changed before the monsoons.

And if the bald surface is also worn and the inner threads show up it's just a matter of time before the tire bursts during riding. So if that's the situation just head out and change it right away.

                            Cheers

The one from original FZ accessories by Yamaha was around 1600, so i took some sandpaper and made my own . You can get your levers buffed for around 100 bucks at any plating shop and even if you buy new levers, everything will come around 400 only
