Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Got it, its like the rear is slipping under you. I had this problem when my bike was new. I used to get the feeling that the bike is slipping, especially in slow speeds. Got it checked from a mechanic and he said it is fine. I at times got down to see that is there some oil on the rear tyre that it is behaving that way.Originally posted by smilingbharat View Post

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
As suggested, did you check for any play in the steering? check for loose bolt in the front tyre.Originally posted by smilingbharat View PostHad my 2nd servicing guys,
1.Told them about the wobble issue I am facing when letting the throttle off, they said they will see to it, but unfortunately the problem isn't rectified, when asked, the SVC guy says, minimum wobble is expected from any bike, What on earth? don't I know how my FZ-16 used to be rock steady?
2.Due to lack of communication (my fault) they have changed my Engine Oil (which is 300 Kms old) , so waste of money for sure, but apart from it , no harm to the machine right?
What should I do for the wobble issue guys? I cant make the SVC guy understand the problem
wobble = shaky? slippery? or something else?

Only SVC to keep your bike under warranty. Don't show to anybody else, unless you trust the mechanic and has sound knowledge for the same.
The best will be to take the SVC guy for a TD along with you and tell him to ride it. If things don't change, shoot a mail to Yamaha India.
Hope this helps.

as your bike is still in run-in period, don't attempt to ride your bike at higher rpms (above 4.5-6 K) , do not give more stress to the engine, don't rip your bike, don't be in one gear constantly, and operate smoothly.
Sudden throttle bursts, cutting-off throttle must be avoided.
I think all FZ's when reaching near 60 (55+) will change their grunt to a more aggressive one and I think you are mistaking it for vibrations. once you cross 60+ the grunt gets even and you'll love it.
If they are actually vibrations and not the engine grunt, then I think senior members might help you
Happy riding!

i don't think these are vibrations.. just the engine trying to give more power..
as told by smilingbharat follow your run-in period and everything will be just fine..
still if you facing this problem continuously, then get it checked and tell them your problem in detail..
keep riding.. don't take tension.. new engines take sometime in getting used to..
cheers..
Ride safe and have fun.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Your engine doesnot vibrate below 60 because you daily go there and come back. Try going to 80 daily and come back, after a while 80 would be smooth. Next time try 100.Originally posted by bikashnayak View PostHi Guys..... My New Bike Yamaha FZS ODO Reading 867Kms( 80Days), 1 Service Done OIL CHANGE n FILTER CHANGE... Your bike is perfectly fine. You have more or less already broken in your engine by now. Just go ahead and slowly open her up. Give slight bursts of throttle enabling you cross 6k on tach and enjoy her
Those vibs decrease gradually

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Hello FZ Clan, I do not own an FZ however a friend of mine owns one and has a 3 month old latest model dual tone FZ. Last Saturday he met with an accident wherein a 16 wheeler banged his bike from the rear and in the process breaking the rear rim, and leaving a highly bent chassis. Not to mention the rear end is a total mess now. Although he escaped with minor scratches and thanks to his helmet there were no major incidents.
Now, he has given the bike to service center and the guys there say that they'll need to replace the entire chassis and there is no need to worry since the chassis will be a genuine Yamaha product of Indonesia make. However my concern here is that since the chassis is the most important part of the motorcycle foundation, replacing it with a new chassis (which also includes completely dismantling the bike) will not make the bike as new and smooth as before. I suggested my friend to get the bike fixed and sell it off...
What do you guys suggest? Is it really worth replacing the entire chassis and use the bike for the years to come or just fix the bike and sell it off? I've heard a chassis bend cannot be repaired and the only option is to replace the chassis. Please suggest what do we do now...thanks in advance

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Hi SpeedyKol,
Just a question, since you too are in kolkata, when you purchased your bike, how long did it take to receive the Registration details? Would be very helpful, if you could reply, since I have recently (6 days) purchased a Yamaha Fazer (Black+red), and still waiting to get the registration details (I have already received the insurance paper though).

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
I bought it early last year (Jan 2012). All formalities of registration and smart card were complete within 1 week of purchase. Now it takes more time I have heard.Originally posted by koushik_man View PostHi SpeedyKol,
