So what is the smallest tyre size that fits on my rear rim...Offroad type would be better..

I always get a feeling like my bikes engine is having hard time on frequent stop and go kind of road...just because of large rear tyre compared to other 150 cc bikes...Is it true or yamaha has managed low weight even with large dimension....

How much on the ODO? Maybe the engine is stressed out,as Yamaha had done a proper road-test before fitting such a tyre on a hugely popular bike.

As I mentioned earlier, I had the same problem. Depending upon how the circuit and wiring was designed, there should be 2 independent circuits for the angel eyes. You need to trace and check the right angel eye circuit to try and find the discontinuity in the circuit. Start from the angel eye and work backwards. If someone else did the installation, then ask the person to look into it, else you are in for a big headache.

Also, just out of curiosity, did you wash the bike just before this problem cropped up?

Sorryy...it has crossed 30 k on odo...I didnt follow breakin procedure and have been reeping it all the time..so engine isnt healthy enough so i am thinking of changing tyre to smaller size to reduce stress on engine

On what basis are you claiming that the bike is not healthy enough? Have you not maintained her as the scheduled maintenance described in the manual? If not then a thorough inspection by SVC will reveal the actual problems that may be with the engine internals or some of the parts overdue for replacement or servicing.

Shifting to a smaller size will not do anything great to the engine nor to the bike besides changing the handling, braking and cornering characteristics.

Hope you will take necessary steps to ensure that your ride is taken care of and is under good health.

          Cheers,

No,I washed 2 days before the problem cropped up,that too in the middle of riding the bike. I wash the bike myself from Day 1,with special care not to let water enter the electricals. The CCFL ring is gone. Now I'm thinking, rather than opening the whole headlight again, fixing it and then again running the risk of a blown out ring after a few months, isn't it better to just revert back to HIDs with a new reflector? I used to have higher light output with HIDs.

6th free service due.Any pointers what all need to be done?

Hello mate, even my angel eye showed such sign like yours after every wash but it used to get normal and glow back in its full intensity after about 15-20 mins of riding.. So I can be very much sure that your problem is caused due to water seepage in the ballast or the ccfl unit. And regarding hid, even I had been using the cheap bixenon projector in my ride with 4300k bulb. But I always felt that it wasnt good enough. The light output was a bit lower than hid in stock reflector. And the high beam was just useless. From my experience, I concluded that such cheap chinese make projectors are just useless rather than the look factor. Planning to get a morimoto projector but they are way too expensive for me ($150).. So for now m using halogens. With a relay and wiring harness i was using a 90/100 watt bulb. It had a better light output (and legal) but caused much strain on batt. For high rpms its not a prob but on extreme lower rpm and continuous long ride on cities makes the battery a bit on lower side. So have now swapped to 60/55 watt. This is not a problem for the bike's electricals at all, not even in extensive city rides. But after getting spoilt by the 100/90 watt bulb, i want more and more.
Guys any suggestions for better light output?? The lighting thread has been bare and dead thus askig here itself.

Thanks bro...I will take her to a svc and maintain her.
I will be going for a lot of uphill ride.Roads are moterable but not even graveled so i i think another tyre with small dimension and hard rubber will be better for me.Any way what are the alternates for the tyres (smaller size)..

If you are looking for harder rubber compound then Dunlop Tuffgrip is a good choice to start with.. 140-70-17 profile. Duro brand also has 140-70-17 harder profile tire. Kings tire has 140-70-17 profile as well. They should be good enough..

What is the purpose of that rubber cover near the intake area of air filter cover????

                      • Hi mates,
I want to add the side panel of R15 V2.0 in my Fazer, is it possible? and will it hamper air cooling? One of the service centre guy told that they would not do it from service centre, but if I can do it from outside in a proper manner, warranty will not get void & it will not create any problem with the cooling also. I had a 2x35w 4300k HID Dual beam setup before plonking in the 6000k projectors. It was far better..so I'm gonna revert back to those.Major facepalm as spent a lot on the projectors and now my bike looks like Jack Sparrow with 1 angel eye glowing!

Just remove one of the inner fairing is enough, just a minute job. I've seen my friend do it a zillion times.

I am sure this must have happened to many of us here, someone please tell how much will it cost to have this back in place and will I need entirely new indicator lamp ?
oye bhai i am also a bhopali..if the reflector and the bulb is intact then there is no need to change the indicator, the rubber boot connected to the indicator has grooves which fit into slots.the grooves on the indicator must be damaged so your indicator has decided to hang.check at the svc for that boot but the indicator assembly is cheap at 133 rupees and is a 5 minute job to fix back.you can pm me for help (if you need)

@subhradeep-that green panel is not a separate panel but is fixed/molded out of the inner panel.i assume you are trying to replace green colored panel of the fazer with the that fancy looking panel of the one-five v2.it should not hamper the flow of air but instead, the r15's panel being longer should 'push' the air downwards while cruising.you also know that it is a complete jugaad, but working with these plastic parts is easy, because, these parts are made from ABS plastic, which is a thermoplastic, which means that you can cut, melt the ends and join any 2 ABS plastic surfaces very easily.if you are interested in what is this cutting, joining of plastic,go to youtube and search for 'plastic welding using soldering iron'.hope this helps.
