So what are the things too look at, take care of while submitting the bike at SVC ?

    Waiting for your valuable suggestions!
atleast while your bike is in warranty period, get it serviced from a SVC.. Else the warranty would be viod.
as this is only your 2nd service, you don't need to worry much. There arn't any parts that need to be changed just yet.. So just let the SVC guys handle it..
if you are facing any problem with the bike, tell the mechanic and get it done..
And in the future, get the service done in time.. 1000 km for the first oil change is too long..
after this service.. Get it serviced after every 2500-3000 kms..
    cheers..

    Ride safe and have fun.

Is this true for all the FZs & Fazers?
May be adjusting the rear suspension to a slightly stiffer condition will enable the suspension to play less. That could solve the problem.
or changing the rear tyre to a more thicker one heightwise (I hope u understand ) may help!!
      what do you say?
You can adjust the suspension to be stiffer, but understand this doesn't change the suspension play, it just changes the resistance the suspension offers to play. So at sufficient speed even on a stiff suspension you can still bottom out and hit a bump especially with pillions.

Also stiffening the suspension will affect your ride-handling. Mostly makes the handling better and sharper but also make it more uncomfortable. You have to adjust with the discomfort. You will notice this especially when riding solo. Your arms, wrists and posterior will let you know

Changing to a thicker profile tyre will again affect your handling. Maybe good or maybe bad depends on individuals. So you better ride an FZ fitted with the tyres you are intending to fit and see how it handles. If you are fine with it only then go for it.

So the best solution as many other riders pointed out is to slow down sufficiently while going over bumps
This will make the bike climb over the bump with little suspension play and will certainly prevent hitting the bump.

      Cheers!!

You know, i really wanted to get a belly- pan for my ride..
but couldn't because of this thing..
we don't slow down our bikes on bumps We tend to rush over and its the bike's return gift to us..
the best thing to do is slow the bike and then get over the bumps ( speed breakers are the worst )

Does anybody experience vibrations @ 4000rpm and above? Thats close to 60kph. Somehow i have been feeling heavy vibrations at that speed and rpm :banghead:

Also, have been feeling slight vibrations at lower rpm & speed range. Got my service done almost 15 days back. Changed the oil 4 days back.

          Any views or suggestions?

          Cheerz!!
The real beauty lies in throttle's twist!!

Headlight can be replaced, Head cannot be. Wear a helmet.

Yes indeed!! It seems slowing down is the only solution. But the problem is spotting a bump suddenly & have no sufficient time to slow down enough.
Well....since its common to all FZs, now at least I am assured that its not a defective suspension which I have got (which is a good news)
And also I assume that almost all FZs get an underbelly hit frequently, still they dont face any serious issues like damage to the exhaust etc, so I guess its still ok even if I accidentally hit a steep bump.

about the saddle bag, FZ is not meant for such things, as no setting or place has been provided. placing it in the extreme end could make it come in contact with the tyre and could prove disastrous.
if you have some important documents to keep, buy a tank cover, it has pockets ( but that would look ugly) or simply carry a backpack..
its not about keeping documents. Actually I have a Bhutan trip on the cards soon & that too with a pillion. Thats why som many concerns have come up!!

              Hi,

I think the vibrations at this speed range is common for all the FZ/Fazers . Once you cross 70 kmph, it will again become smooth.

FZs are not prone to vibs generally. Btw how many kms old is your bike?

no need to worry bro.. such vibs happen..
for no particular reason they start..
you might have noticed them when you accelerate suddenly ? am i right ?
check the chain movement, sometimes a loose chain can cause vibs at certain speeds..

No bro. I cruise and throttle slowly. So, as soon as the speedo reaches 57kph i.e tacho @ 4000rpm, the vibes start coming and i understand i have reached 60kph. But, gradully the vibes fade of (not completely).

Mine is over 2 years. I haven't experienced vibes that u've described.
I'd suggest you take your bike back to the SC, tell them to re torque all the bolts, ride another FZ, am sure they'll oblige.

now that might be a problem
mine is also close to 18 months old and haven't felt any vibes (only except when close to 100km/h )
