What oil is preffered to lube the chain? Any suggestions for cleaning the chain?
    Cheerz!!
use Motul chain clean to get rid of the dirt and motul chain lube for lubrication..
if we can give only high cost gifts to gf, then why not use good quality products for our bikes..
Both the sprays cost around 500 each..

    Ride safe and have fun.

I clean the chain after evry 2500 to 3000 km.

You can also increase you tyre pressure if you want you will feel the difference.
Long term use of kerosene will not have any effect on the chain? Any chain cleaners that can be used?

Also, had read somewhere in other forum about WD 40, don't know what exactly is it. Any idea?

      Cheerz!!

And the chain set costs 1300 bucks. Buy something that you can generously and frequently put on the chain. Dont wait for 300, 500 etc kms. See the chain and if found dry, uneven lubrication apply a good ep 90, ep 140 oil.
I didnt mean that you are not applying it generously or frequently

Ep 90 is widely used gear oil.. its same viscosity as a xxW40 engine oil. EP 140 is a thicker gear oil.
            Both are excellent chain lubricants.

Been using EP90 gear oil after reading ur post long time back.kind of a good product.chain noise decreases a lot.it has been around 6-8months that I havr been using gear oil on chain.works wonderfully.chain slack doesn't need to be adjusted much.

I am also using Bharat Petroleum 140 Grade gear oil since last ten months, its working absolutely fine without stressing on pocket. No need to adjust the chain in last 3000 km. I used to clean my chain with a toothbrush and Kerosene after an interval of 1000 km, its working fine.

Guys riding FZS with Motul 300v 15w 50 full synthetic. Recently I did a 250 km highway ride mostly @90-100 kmph.
So oil level decreased. It's just above min level. Now Motul is not available in my current location but I'm gng to do d same highway ride again.

So please suggest me the engine oil which will be available in Petrol stations for top up before the ride.

PS: I'm going to do oil service after 600 km

A quick method is mentioned by me here - http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/motorcyc...fz-s-1547.html
Dont turn 'ON' the bike while doing this, do it slow with moving the tyre gently by hand.

If you keep the bike's chain little wet with oil, the ride is smooth and the chain adjustment reduced drastically. I am also using EP 140.

Use any xxW50 oil for top up and complete the ride bindaas.

                        Had my 2nd servicing guys,

1.Told them about the wobble issue I am facing when letting the throttle off, they said they will see to it, but unfortunately the problem isn't rectified, when asked, the SVC guy says, minimum wobble is expected from any bike, What on earth? don't I know how my FZ-16 used to be rock steady?

2.Due to lack of communication (my fault) they have changed my Engine Oil (which is 300 Kms old) , so waste of money for sure, but apart from it , no harm to the machine right?

What should I do for the wobble issue guys? I cant make the SVC guy understand the problem

Every bike without ECU controlled ignition gives a jerk on release of throttle. You are calling it wobble, but its nothing to worry about. Rather if that happens with you, I can tell you are riding in the correct gear.

Lol, change your engine every 100km, your engine's gonna love u.
                              No harm done at all

                              Wobbling issue:
Whatever the SVC folks cooked up is utter rubbish. Better shoot a mail to Yamaha and you'll see how things work for the best

It's not the instantaneous jerk I am talking about , but a continuous (but of little magnitude) wobble (or shake) as if the bike is running on an uneven surface.

It's not very obvious, but it's there, that's why i was unable to convince those guys that there's a problem.
