Dear, the best bet for u would be the Duke's tire by MRF..a bit fatter...excellent grip and quality...next is IRC tire (available in Bhubaneswar)...are Dunlop TuffGrip 140/70 and MRF zapper Q 140/70...both are of good quality....but still Duke's MRF remains the best in the business...anyday it is a better choice...Originally posted by SpeedyKol View Post

I'm more interested in relief from frequent punctures. So I need something with hard compound rubber. I don't think that Duke's tyre is hard compound. The link is showing "Content Unavailable"...can u please put up the picture here?Originally posted by chandanb View PostDear, the best bet for u would be the Duke's tire by MRF..a bit fatter...excellent grip and quality...next is IRC tire (available in Bhubaneswar)...are Dunlop TuffGrip 140/70 and MRF zapper Q 140/70...both are of good quality....but still Duke's MRF remains the best in the business...anyday it is a better choice...

Yamaha FZ-S Engine Sound
Hi Friends,
I am new to this forum but had been reading a lot for years. It's my first post and m sure that i will get the required help from the experts and generous members. I got Yamaha FZS April 2011 and it feels that everything has gone wrong with it now. M tired of going to the SVC and the local mechanics. Everyone does something and bill me huge but the problem persists.
Problem started with small tic tic sound and roughness from the engine and I went to the Kamla Yamaha SVC in Chembur and they confidently told me that it wasnt the major problem and changing the Clutch Plate would do it (I was amazed at that). Well, I got second opinion from one of the local mechanic and he told me about the Cam Chain. I was in dilemma who to believe and finally gave in for SVC. They replaced the clutch plates and did few more things and asked me to take a trial run. I rode the bike and it was still the same and the pick up had worsened. But I was more worried about the noise and asked the person there to fix it. He then called the other mechanic and asked to check the source of noise. Now, to my utmost surprise he was talking about Clutch Housing which was to be replaced. That time my bike had a running of 11,500 km on the odo. It could go faulty. He opened it and showed me that there was play in it and replaced it. It was costing me 1700 Rs plus Clutch plate etc for Rs 1500. After replcaing the housing it smoothened but still the noise was there. SVC person was not at all believing now that there was still any unusual sound. Frustrated me!! I came back and rode the bike for more kms. But again after around 1000 km, the noise was back and it is increasing day by day. I didnt have any more trust on SVC guys so went to a local mechanic who i used to know. He told me that the tappets were out of specs and thus need to be tightened. He adjusted them and the noise was much less (but stil there) now but the bike lost its power and pick up. I had to struggle for getting the bike on roll in the first gear. Went back to few other mechanics and everyone experimented with tappet but to no success. Ultimately went to Yamaha SVC and they did the guage setting but the noise is too much to bear. I dont feel any power in the engine- no pick up, Engine heat up, clutch slip, engine dying and coming back while on the move (occasionally but happens in every ride) are some the problems m living with.
Pls Help. PLS pls pls

Go to Kamla Yamaha Sewree using the dockyard road. They are the best in the business and don't loot their customers. I believe they should take care of this niggling problem..Originally posted by chandra37 View PostHi Friends,

@ Chandra... Bro, the noise seems to be very weird. The engine does not have that grunt in it. It feels as if, loads of coins are rolling in the engine
I some how feel that, the noise has got nothing to do with the replacements you have made. Any mods done by you?
Cheerz!!The real beauty lies in throttle's twist!!

Erm sounds more like valve settings being off and may be cam timing slightly off.. it is a one day job and the boys at Kamla Yamaha Sewree should be able to take care of it. However it is justa guess.. without seeing the bike in person it is difficult to pinpoint the problem. If you are noticing the engine becoming very rough then may be something to do with the engine oil as well so check the level of the engine oil. If you are using Yamalube try shifting to Motul 5100/7100 engine oil.Originally posted by chandra37 View PostThanks shv18, would definitely go there. Besides that i believe having a word with the SVC head mechanic should solve your problem.

Cheers,
I had been using Motul 5100 with the additional additive which the SVC guy had advised for. Had checked the oil level which is just perfect.
Changes made so far by me -
Clutch Plate and Pressure Plates,
Clutch Housing (Primary Gear)
Engine Oil - Motul 5100
Chain And Sprocket
Spark Plug - NGK Iridium
Oil Filter
Air Filter
Carb Cleaning and setting (SVC) - almost 6 times in the past 2 months.
and many other parts but it just not coming into shape.
I have never sped up violently, didnt do any long stretches, no rough revving or handling.
Can you let me know of the person/mechanic or the Head Mechanic as i am going to the Sewree SVC tomorrow suggested by you. I hope they would be able to fix it this time.

Its not mormal mate.. Like you are saying about your riding style, the engine should be in preety good condition..Originally posted by chandra37 View PostExactly bro.. i feel the same.. and it increases tremendously after few kilometers run.. But the SVC guys that it's the normal sound after 10000 kms.. I havent made any mod on the bike.
but this thing is not.. The roughness comes with unconditioned engines, not like yours..
The sound is very odd..
get it checked by and experienced mech.. and hopefully, the prolem would be solved..~four wheels move the body, but two wheels move the soul..
