    Cheers,
i guys any idea where to get System-G in Mumbai?? i am unable to find it in any BPCL bunkers nor any accessory shops. i am planning to buy online and was able to find 2 sites but not sure if they are reliable. please help.

Please post a pic soon.waiting for it...No way am going for that Duke's Revz tyre,I would be fed up with it more than the stock tyre.

        Hi

You will get System 23 at Lotus Petrol Pump near Infinity Mall, Andheri (West)

They usually have the Rs. 5 packets.

You don't want to get an ultra soft compound tire.. Summer has begun, the hot roads make the tires even more prone to puntures..
go for something that's more suited for the indian roads climate.. Check zapper vdye, and some other..

I took her to Sewree Service Centre on Monday (went there on Sunday as well but it was closed) and when got it checked by the mechanics they told me that it was a normal sound and there wasnt any problem (same like other SVC guys). I insisted a lot that there was unusual noise coming from the engine but he just wouldnt believe it. But upon much insistence, they opened the gearbox and showed me the Clutch Boss which were having very fine circular (rings) marks and advised me to change it. I asked him to change it asking if that was the reason of noise but he answered in negative. I asked him to check the cam chain and valves but he told me that they were perfect and neednt be interfered with. He checked the engine oil which was very black and had to be changed. But it was 2500 kms only Motul 5100 was supposed to be changed at 3000-5000 km depending on riding style and mine could fetch for 5000 mark. Also the engine oil level was low as compared to what it should be which was around 100 ml. When asked for reason he told me to check the level in 15 days and if found less, then engine needs to be opened. He changed the pressure plates (was changed 3 months ago), clutch boss, oil filter, engine oil (Yamalube) and did normal servicing. I was hoping to find it smooth after service but alas!!! it was same and not a .1% improvement in the smoothness in the engine. I said this to the SVC guy but he told me that my bike was much smoother than other bikes on the contrary. I know there is something definitely wrong and it has to do something with the cam chain or the valve or the worst Piston (worn out rings), but they just are not able to find it. Any more suggestion or advice will certainly help me. So pls help me.
Also, after the service, I find the Gears hard while shifting down.
Erm one correction.. Motul 5100 is an SS grade engine oil and in FZ has a life of upto 2500-3500 kms based on riding style and not 5000 kms (Muztariq please correct me if i am wrong on this!!). If you ride your bike on engine oil which cannot lubricate anymore due to over usage or ageing then chances are the piston and the piston rings have gone kaput which is the reason of so much oil consumption. Regarding the gears being hard to shift with the change in engine oil...it is happening because the old oil due to over running had deposited a huge amount of gum on gears and other parts. Thus, now the new oil is slowly chipping away these layers having the lubricating, cleaning and scrubbing properties.. ride her for a few 100 kms and see. i had also faced the same issue even with 300V when after almost 6 months of celibacy i got her back to life and changed the oil with new can of 300V.. first few 100 kms she was unbelievably hard on gear shifts but later became the usual butter smooth with engine vibes and overall gear shifts.

Keep an eye on the engine oil. If the there is a sudden dip then the signs are clear and culprit behind the engine noise will be either damaged valve seats or the piston and piston rings itself. BTW the life of engine oil is not just with how many kms you do clock on your bike but also with the duration it stays inside the engine. It will start to oxidise and lose its lubrication properties as the oil starts ageing due to exposure to various elements. I feel the old service centre didn't do a good job installing the clutch mechanism assembly which resulted in fine circular rings like the SVC guys at Kamla Yamaha, Sewree showed you. Make sure that you interact only with the head mechanic Rakesh whenever dealing with bike problems..

            Cheers,

i have seen many fz's with such tyres..
it might look wide on paper, but in real.. the tyre looks way slimmer than the stock..
also the contact area is way less..

When I saw the video of your bike.. I noticed there is a small hole near the spark plug from which this noise/air may be coming. I dont think its present on my bike. There may be loss of compression due to it.

                      • Having a wierd problem..whenever I'm shifting from neutral to 1st gear and depressing the clutch with moderate rev,it seems as if the engine has no fuel and sometimes the ignition dies also. Sometimes when I'm revving, there's a 1 second gap of no response from engine while accelerating away.Idling rpm has been optimal, new FS oil and tank is full. Clutch settings to be changed? Also..How to know that the clutch plate needs to be replaced?

Nope, i think it the carb setting that needs to be adjusted..
guess there happens to be a little float in ur carb setting.. Needs a bit of tuining, probably to the richer side.

Check if the air filter inlet is being blocked by something. Its very easy to block that inlet because you tend to keep ur bike papers there.

Do you use the choke regularly? If not, there are chances that, the choke might not be working properly and will stall the bike.

Also, regarding the response, as others have mentioned check those things and check for the play in the accelerator wire.
