use a ring spanner... it works... the spark plug tool doesnt work infact you will end up bending the screwdriver shaft.... i think you can use either 18-19 number ring spanner.Originally posted by arijitmaniac View PostTimon: Orange Yamaha FZ16 2009

I was going up to 8K after 25kms, 9K after 50kms and bouncing off the stock limiter around 70kms on my new engine.Originally posted by jonahmano View PostHey man don't worry about that 7k RPM revving. Guys in Malaysia do take their babe to 8ks just after 100 kms.
There is nothing to worry about, The factory have tested to destruction numerous times the engine to find its limits and find out what breaks at what point.
The factory set rev limiter is there so you don't exceed the "safe" rotational speed2013 Ducati M795 with a few mods in here http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/superbik...95-owners.html

....but I am not sure the full extent of the humor in your "recommendation" will be understood!

Since excessive play originates from worn metal, and this is not going to improve but worsen as time goes, you should have the started clutch replaced. It is rather easy access (provided the shop has got the right tool to extract the alternator).Originally posted by vimal_hbk View Postexactly buddy....!!! from the left side it is...!!! is it something to worry???.... or i need to replace anything
Failing to do this repair, besides the here-above mentioned damages to the whole engine due to metal particles coming from the clutch, if that is effectively what is causing this noise, will one day result in your electric starter not being able to crank the engine anymore.
Trouble is that it seems that Yamaha is very slow in delivering this part: thanks to one forum member here, I have had it ordered about two months ago...and still waiting! When I do something stupid, my consolation is to know that I'll do the worse one only once!

Guys, I am noticing that when I give some throttle there is a slight lag in response. Also I can feel that there is a very slight noise from the engine like some loose metal. Said all that to the SVC but still the problem persists. I last serviced my bike on 13th Dec. Waiting for your help friends.
Also Wish you all a Merry Christmas & a Very Happy New Year.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16
Gave the bike to svc to my suprise the yamaha technical staff who read my mail was there.Originally posted by Mizt View PostI too have the same problem
still searching for the solution...
He accidentally noted my name in the service card ,then the attitude of svc guy changed. The service guy told too many complications in the engine. As i had a small chat with technical staffs i got thier nos and discussed if the warranty will be covered if any replacements necesary. He replied it would if I had done all the services and the bike is within warantty period. The downside it will take 3 days for the service and i will be out of home town until 31. I hope the bike will be in prestine condition when I get back home..

@shv18-you have used iftex system g.do you recommend it?
also please can anyone tell me that to adjust the tappet settings, should the whole valvehead be disassembled.i have never done any d.i.y related to the engine and the mechanics are too dumb here.they are scared of opening any engine component.

Get the valve clearance spec from Instruction Manual, and DIY it. Heres my valve adjustment DIY. The process is similar, only major difference to be noted is that, in FZ you need to remove the head cover since you dont have valve adjustment ports.Originally posted by juniorbiker403 View Postalso please can anyone tell me that to adjust the tappet settings, should the whole valvehead be disassembled.i have never done any d.i.y related to the engine and the mechanics are too dumb here.they are scared of opening any engine component.

System G is recommended.. 1ml per ltr or 10ml per 10 ltrs. You should get a small sachet of 10/15 ml or else you can also go for a bottle i believe around 250- 300 ml.Originally posted by juniorbiker403 View Post@shv18-you have used iftex system g.do you recommend it?

I am not sure about that as i have got all the services done at the SVC only but i guess you will have have to remove the head cover just like ashwinprakash has mentioned above. I don't remember the proper clearance settings a simple visit to the service manual will help.
