By scrape marks do you mean irregular wear n tear???
Can i open it at home itself or at the SVC only???

I also experienced this issue after getting my bike first service (a part of the reason for this may be that during run in period, we do not over strach accelerator too much).. the vibrations are still there and even without looking at the speedometer i can tell that i am driving somewhere about 4500 rpms since it is shaking a little. Some say its normal (peak torque causing a little sensation) but others like us are bothered and concerned.

        Any 1.. Plz help

        Happy Riding!
Yup buddy, i am also concerned about the 4500rpm thing....the vibrations are too much to ignore...i havnt even touched the 6000rpm mark....after 5000rpm it feels like the engine will explode anytime....SVC guys arnt intersted...they say its normal....but how can high vibrations be normal man???
anybody have any advice..pls help me.

          • by scrape marks i mean sharp digging of the pads...
high vibrations are normal n go away on further increasing the speed...
            this happens on all engines.
i think its just more pronouced to the driver in case of fz.
no you can't open it on your own but any mechanic can do it...
            going to SC is best

Congrats Exixtonz for your new bike!

Man if we convert back 184900 Nepal Rupees it comes to 115562.5 Indian Rupees! Gosh! this is almost double the price in India i.e. Rs.67000 being the cost of on FZ-S!...yeeeks!. Guessed the import taxes of Nepal or export taxes of India is very high

Anyways, Congrats once again dude, and where are you from? Nepal?

                      2. normally a burning smell does come from my engine when i drive on the wet roads but I am told that its normal. all other times my engine smells fine. so check when it smells.
                      3. depends... i do it on each fill.. comes around weekly. but once in 2-3 weeks is also fine if you park in shade and drive easy.
                      4. Teflon coating is useless to my belief. I saw them doing on one bike n it looked as if they were doing a multi coat polishing... so i never showed interest in it. I wash n polish my bike weekly.
                      5. make sure to spray lubricant (chain spray) on to the chain after driving in wet conditions or a wash. adjust slackness as always. Clean if it gets too dirty. do this after every 500 kms too
                      2. No, its not the case, the smell appears any time, more often when i am driving in traffic.
                      4. How do you polish the bike?
                      4) Which chain spray is to be used?
                      SAVE TIME....SEE IT MY WAY

                        1. for the smell part i think you wait a while maybe till 500 kms more if you haven't had your second service. look at the exhaust pipe on the part that comes out of the engine. clean the dirt on the exhaust pipe thoroughly. that might solve ... m not sure.
                        2. to polish you need a liquid or a wax polish easily available in market... after washing your bike n drying use a very soft dust free cloth to apply polish n then wipe it to a glossy finish. same way as one polishes the leather shoes. 1 coat is enough at a time. do it atleast once a month. do not wash with heavy spraying from down side. n avoid washing metal parts too much. dry immideatly after washing.
                        3. get the chain spray from SC.

Well, most probably avneetrekhi20 is referring to the smell from the engine. While on traffic one would not get the smell from the exhaust except if there is black smoke coming from the same. And if black smoke comes out, get your Monster checked in YMSC. Yes Braveheart is true, but might take longer than 500kms before the engine smell might "reduce" but not disappear. I have travelled about 7000 kms and the engine smell is still there which is normal, though reduced. Yes its does smells like burnt oil or something, but stronger than that of Bajaj. Dont know if this is bad or good.

As for the chain spray. You can purchase the Yamaha lube, costing about 500 bux from the showroom. But use the chain cleaner first (mine is Motul chain cleaner purchased from YMSC). And to use the Chain cleaner, your chain should not be wet with water else it will not work properly. And after this only wash the chain with water. When you are satisfied with the cleanliness, use the chain spray.

                              • FZS number plate.

Ha ha ha boys n girls i seem to have sorted my number plate situation on me FZs. I kinda shifted it from its present position lower in between the windshiled and the headlamp and it looks much sleeker now this drawing gives a lil bit of an idea and I am gonna post the actual pics soon.

Basically I took two FZ16 numberplate clamps and cut of the tack welding this left me with two plates with bolts tacked on them and the cust off a 3rd of the plate and drilled a hole is each of them. Used these two plates to suspend diagonally from the lower two screws on the windshield bent the number plate to suite the profile of the bike and Voopppa! Done. I hope Yamaha actually takes this design refines and use it as OE rathar that stick an ugly looking number plate bang on the windshield.
