    • Morang Auto Works (MAW), the sole authorized dealer of Yamaha motorcycles for Nepal, has announced a “Road Trip to Everest” campaign in which its latest FZ16 bike will set out to conquer Everest base camp.
According to the information released amid a program on Sunday, three lucky customers of FZ 16 chosen via a lucky draw, and three celebrities will also accompany the FZ16--the most preferred and awarded bike in 150cc category.
This is first ever adventure of the kind planned so far for bikes in this category. The campaign is led by three youth icons--Nima Rumba, Dipak Bista & Suraj Singh Thakuri-- said a press release issued at the program; the release also says that " the FZ16 is confident of conquering the Himalayas through its new campaign."
To reach Everest Base Camp from Kathmandu, the riders will be riding to an altitude of 5,200 meters and they will cover a total distance of 1,100 Km. "This is the first time in the history of Nepal that a bike in the 150 CC category will be ridden to such high altitudes and on such a route," said Vishnu Kumar Agrawal, chief executive of MAW.

The trip to Everest Base Camp will start on the 18th of July and is expected to end on around the 25th of the month.

increase and maintain idle rpm at 1400 , there is a small mark in the tachometer , below 2K, turn the idle screw in carburetor (one that is wound by a spring and points towards the ground), until the tach aligns with that line.
If your bike still dies, something is stuck , get it checked with the yami service centre..

Yeah! The issue could most probably be due to bad quality of fuel..
BTW, you should always get your bike refuelled at the same petrol bunk as far as possible.. & if that is not possible, atleast maintain the same brand of fuel if you refuel from different petrol bunks (change brands only once you run out of fuel i.e. tank is empty.. Or atleast when the older brand of fuel is nearing empty in the fuel tank)..
            Cheers!

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

BTW can one explain me , how to adjust the air screw for optimum performance. since, in yami SC, the guys simply rotate the screw just like that , whenver i give them my FZ for service. there should be a more technical and precise way to do it right???

i do not want to do any physical changes in the carb, or engine, for better performance..
what do u mean by Optimum Performance? if u mean to get more mileage, do the following:

First of all never adjust the air screw (for more mileage) during the running-in period, if ur bike has completed the running-in, do the following:
              1. Tighten the air screw fully (do not over tight it)
              2. Increase the idle speed by turning the idle screw (to keep the engine running)
              3. Loosen the air screw 2 to 2.5 turns
              4. Adjust the Idling speed to 1400 rpm

if u want sheer pick-up and performance and doesn't care about mileage, loosen the idling screw only for 1.5 turns.

              • Yeah, its a clear case of lower idle rpm setting. Btw, does the FZ idle at 1400 rpm? I felt its a bit high coz my R15 idles at 1200 RPM!

                • hi guys

I have ridden long many times on my fz, and each time if the ride is longer than 1 n a half to two hours its a pain in the ass... if you don't take a halt that is... to minimise this i put another sponge 2 cm thick, temporarily on my seat... it makes the seat fatter softer n sweat absorbing. but its a really shabby way of doing it. Is there any better suggestion...

                  Thanks in advance

                  • hey buddy

i guess if u ride any other two wheelers..for more than an hour and half..u gonna get ur ass in pain..
unless its cruiser bike like enfields and others..u cant ride these bikes either for more than 2 hrs without a breather for ur ass..

also i feel that two wheeler engines shud not be run at a stretch for more than 2 hrs..they need break..

                    ......

nah its cushioned, its like double layer of mesh. you can take a look at it, i ride in city so seems pretty good to me.

@sarvajit yeah actually i discovered it as my bike was washed at service center before putting cover, he just wiped the seat and put the cover, when air was flowing through it, it was a pleasure
