    well its basically like this
for the first 500km you should not exceed 4500RPM and from 500 to 1000km you should not exceed 6000RPM

on the 5th gear @4500 RPM you can touch 60km/h

Rightly said, the 1st 1000 km are very important for a new bike. Its the range in which the engine is just opening up. If you'll drive in the speed limit, you'll have a better managed engine. Its all related to the life of the engine.

I can very well understand the frustration of driving @ 50-55km on highways, as I'd also been through the same problem. But believe me, its a very good compromise to make for a better bike engine.

1000 km are nothing man, you'll be doing 10,000 km with this bike in a year or less.

What accessories are you looking for ? By the way guys my bike's mileage on the last tank full was 35 kmpl only, right now she's running on shell Super fuel & testing the mileage, the petrol costs about Rs. 53.50. This I'm getting after using a K & N on my bike.

            Hey Guys...
I am posting after a long time..
I have run my Fuzzy around 15K KMs. I have noticed my pickup has drastically reduced and so has my mileage....

            Any suggestions?

            • Hi,

Yesterday when I was leaving for home from my office in the evening, I noticed that my handle lock was a little down in that silver shell of lock. The lock was so free that I could turn the handle without even inserting the key into it. I quickly drove to the SVC guys and got it fixed. They only tighten up the screws which were holding the lock by 'L' key.

But I'm still ignorant of this behavior of the lock as to why did it happen at all.

have you got your bike serviced of late?
you should probably check for a clogged air filter along with other routine service checkups, and also get the AFR checked.

I did get it serviced about 2 weeks back. I asked them to check the Air filter and the Carb. They cleaned the airfilter but I don't think they touched the carb.
I am sorry, I did not understand what you mean by AFR.

Also, does anyone notice that the chain touches the swingarm near the rear monoshock ??

                    • Yamah FZ-16 Top Speed Capability

                      Hey Guys

I Have a doubt Here, About FZ 16 Capacity on Top Speed

as per Yamaha FZ16 Review, Yamaha FZ16 Price, Yamaha FZ16 India, Finance Yamaha FZ16, Comparison, Images & Videos, Models, Variants | Autos at MaxAbout.com
it say Top Speed for FZ 16 is 132kph

Is it Possible to Reach that Speed in Stock FZ
I have reached Top Speed of only 110 KPh in my FZ, never had a Road to push more than that.
Have anyone Touched More than that, need to Know the Actually Capacity

                      • Need Help!

                        Hey guys, please help..
My bike is almost 2 months old. Did my 1st service at 550 kms and the guys at Service Station changed the engine oil.

Now my bike's 2nd service is due in 2 days and it has done 1300+ kms on odo.
As I've read that the new engine keeps on refining itself till somewhat 1500 kms. And the particles keeps on degrading the engine if kept inside for long.
So, shall i get the engine oil changed again this time or shall I wait for next service or another 10,000 kms?

AFR=air-fuel ratio, which can be tuned in the carburettor. more air and less fuel means less top end power, and vice versa.

maybe the chain is loose, which could also be reason for loss of power..

P.s.: better ask the experts though, im a little newbie

Bro, I'm not quite satisfied with the Air Fuel Ratio Explanation ... More Air means less top end? You sure?
All these years, we learned that:-->

More air less fuel = high performance & mileage, less emissions but a hot engine,
Less Air More Fuel = Sluggish performance, cooler engine, less mileage, more emissions, etc...

Do Correct me if I'm wrong.
                              -
@ Leadpb: Chain play can be measured, by moving the lower part of chain with normal force. Total 35-40mm play (uppermost to downermost point) is ideal for general running, including with pillion.

In this case, there may be a problem with tappets. Look for any different sound from engine, in both low & high rpms separately... It will tell you for sure, if tappets are wrongly adjusted. (like "bells" sounding at high rpm's).

Even if no noise is there, you can get them checked. Tappets should be adjusted very ACCURATELY with the proper company certified measurement numbers & tools, and not manually. Manual adjusting rarely gives optimum results...

Although, the carburettor can just make minor changes to AFR. Still, you can tell him to make the Air Fuel Ratio more towards "Lean" ...
