    please help me out guys

dude the small scraping sound is normal in all fzs...asked the mech and also seen earlier in this very thread.but in case the noise is loud not just a rustle of the calipers then may be you need to take it to the mechanic and get the distance between them increased or may even be caused due to the caliper being misaligned and requiring alignment.

Have u had a fall or a rather nasty pothole that you hit, these may be the reasons for your disc getting misaligned.

      thanks for the info
regarding pot hole and fall , i had neither of it ..
its just the scraping sound but the problem is the disk gets heated after riding for 3 kms [without much braking]

i have seen this in the past that my disc too makes that noise but i learned to ignore it.It only is heard when i am at low speeds and with the engine cut off or not running at all. Please clarify on the frequency and the loudness of the noise to give us better prespective. As i mentioned it is comman to hear a rustling sound. If still worried get it checked out by the local Yamaha SVC.They might be lazy n irritating but they do know the bike better than most...

A few good points on that:
1.Engine seems smoother even after 65kmph.
                    2.Gear shifting is much better.
3.acceleration seems much better and quicker.
                    4.much better throttle response.

Dont know why but the bike has given a lot a confidence after the service than before.Took it out as soon as i got it back.the zip in it seems almost too good.(Touch wood...)

Have done 800kms and first service is over....had to give in after just 20 days due to the prblm. Can i let it rip???

It almost seems to be beggin me to push it now...cant resist much longer.Already crossed 70kmph today constantly....
By converter, do you mean the catalytic converter. Could you let us know the location of that?

                    Many Thanks.

when asked he pointed to the below of the tank on the right hand side...I was not there at that point in time when the actual removal or the fixing back of the converter took place...just was there during the cleaning act...ya sry was there thrgh the rest of the service but had to rush to the showroom to pick up my insurance that had come in from the insurance guys.....so sry for the lack of insight that i can provide in regards to that.....

                        • Advice Me

guys I'm having hard times with my just a week old FZ16. It takes ages to warm up the engine in morning (in the process the engine stalls atleast 4-5 times) But the worse thing happened today was after 5 minutes of a steady ride, the bike suddenly lost its accelelartion power & the throttle was'nt responding anymore. I had to pull over & then i tried restarting the bike but it did'nt. I tried Choke, restarted the engine kill switch, adjusted fuel knob to reserve & all possible methods I could think of & then after a few minutes of trouble my bike came to life. Rode it happily for next couple of km's & then the overall process repeated (engine not responding, no ignition etc) I decided to take it to Yamaha service centre & by the time I reachd there , I guess my bike was warmed up enough & hence there was no problems wen mechanics checked it. I had hard time convincing them what i went through & finally the only reply Igot from them was that the problem may be because of a drop of water of Spark plug or ignition area. So I wanted to ask these to u guys, can this b the problem with my bike? If yes then guide me coz by bike is washed daily by a local person so what further precautions should I take. Please help me frnds coz I dont want to go throuh the same nightmare again tomorrow morning

NightBreaker Seems to have solved the problem of Light in my FZ. Its Much Brighter than factory fitted one. Now i can ride easily at night without getting blinded by opposite vehicle lights. I am happy it worked.

I am attaching the picture of Seat and light.

Get the carburettor tuned correctly (and cleaned, if required). The tuning is not some fixed setting; this varies according to the weather and altitude. So tuning it once every month or so should take care of it. This takes just a few minutes and is easy to do.

Having to use the choke in the morning is not a bad thing. In fact, using it ensures quicker starts and saves the battery and starter some wear. But if the bike won't start at all without the choke, see above.

                              The FZ/FZ-S/Fazer have a 5 Ah battery.

Clean and adjust the spark plug gap first. And check to see if the problem's solved.

If not, get the pilot jet and the carburettor cleaned and then tuned. Also check for dirt in the fuel filter in the fuel cock and clean or replace if required.

If it still doesn't work, it could be an electrical problem related to the ignition.

Important question for you: does the bike run normally and as good as other FZs at all speeds once the engine is hot?
