HID lamps are extremely bright and can and do dazzle people at night. So, do be considerate by switching to low beam whenever a vehicle is coming from the opposite direction.

Hello to all

Hi my fellow FZ xbhpians.......long time since I posted last but now I can't find my posts anywhere thanks to my long absence....
Wanted some help again and also wanted to share some info too....
For the past two months I was totally engrossed in my office life due to lot of work and all so noticed very late about the fact that my bike was giving around about 30-32 kmpl
......felt shocked because I was maintaining it properly with scheduled services, tyre pressure check etc. and my driving style too was same as before.....took it to Delhi Scooters SVC in Delhi but results were either bad or same so one day just changed the petrol pump station from where i used to fill and to my utter surprise the average now was 45!!1

This after experimenting with at least 10 different stations in Delhi and found out that ony a couple of them provided the right fuel qty while filling one being near to my work place and one at Narela at the border!! The one near my work place ensures that I get 40-42 kmpl on normal and 45 kmpl on POWER (HP Filling Station) while the one at narela (another HP Station) gave me 50 Kmpl on normal (cudn't try POWER as its very far from my place!!
) I felt like man I was trying to drive good, was cursing my driving skills and also my bike and later SVC Guys and finally had admitted that FZ was not gud enough in terms of FE but now accidentally this thing made me go mad!!! I mean fuel price rise every now then
and no way to check on this!!! Well very happy with my FZ's FE now!!
Now I few problems......
1) There is some squeaking noise coming from front wheels which is audible till 30 Kmph and happens everytime and SVC guys have been unable to fix the same though they have actually made it more audible than before. What could be it??
2) Is there a way to keep my front disc pads rust free?? I am doing the chain lubing thing thanks to the excellent guide here so asked SVC Guy of something similar but he said nothing could be done.
3) I am planning to upgrade my front light since its not sufficient enough for me but want really less modifications and also make sure it doesn't affect my battery. So what would do to replace the stock bulb?? OSRAM NB or HID ?? Kindly let me know the cost and all.
I just got the cool mesh cover and tank protector installed which was expensive though but worth it!! Again all thanks to the guys here who had posted their views.
Thanks in advance!!
ODO:5K
enjoying every km now!!

I guess I faced the same problem once. The problem was in the 'garari' attached to the speedometer - it was running dry; greasing it solved the problem.Originally posted by meet6230 View PostNow I few problems......

This is not a major issue. My local mechanic charged me Rs. 30 for the job.
(SVC guys, as always, INCREASED the noise, so I handed it over to my local mechanic)

Help me regarding Headlight and LEDs
I had posted this Query, in the Help me thread. here
Now trying yet again here,
I have been using my beloved FZ-16 for one year now. I wish to upgrade its stock headlights, to brighter ones because the stock ones dont give fair light on highways and all. may be white. Also I wish to add LEDs or Neons on the body for a enhanced look.
I searched in other threads, but I could not get a very important information. Can it be done Legally in India ? and How much would the overall price may go ?
Sorry if I'm reposting this query, in such case, can any one give me topic link with page number with the required information ?
Thanking you in advance.sigpic

But uprating the halogen bulb to 55/60 W will be the least likely to be seen as illegal since the light looks normal and not whitish or bluish like HID lamps, which are cop magnets!
Cost: Halogen 55/60 W: Rs. 60 onwards
HID 35 W: Rs. 3000 onwards

Helppp
Hi guys a strange thing happend to my Fz..
i usually drive at high speeds of around 75-90 coz my home is in outskirts of the city so its a highway ride everyday..
so at tis time from i had filled petrol of Rs500 in ma bike and it gave me only an average of 32..
i was really shocked to see tis coz usually it gave 35-45 but tis time it was low..
so 3 days back wen i was low on fuel and was at around 70 the bike haulted and finally shut off tht means i got it tht it needs to go on reserve so i did one thing i switched it to reserve and put trip to 0..
and thn went to the filling station and filled petrol of only 50 rs. tht is around 1 litr..
and thn frm past three days i was driving at 40 - 50 and on top gears.. the top speed i got was 55..
and today it again switched to reserve and the trip reading was 73.7...
now i m shocked tht how is it possible... on high speeds it gave only 32 and now in 1 litr at low speed it gave 70..
how is it possible????
please yaar guys help me is it correct??if not wer did i went rong???I wud prefer to drive on the road to hell.. rather than flying to heaven...

Yes you can easily do that without any modification anywhere. Just open up the headlight section and fit in the Osram NB...Stabl'ised by: BlackCat (FZ-16), BlackBird (ThunderBird)

Bro do one small thing which would give you the best and clear picture about your FZ's Drinking Habits.......This time around on reserve set the trip to zero and see the total kms covered. Do the math then after setting trip to zero as that's the best way to know the FE. Read my post as that would give you an idea on why you just can't trust the petrol pumps on refilling. But 1.4 Ltr reserve to zero would give the most clear picture. Also remember one thing that FZ has a habit of drinking over 70 km/hr. But I would still say to check as I suggested though even my FZ gave me 50 upon driving steadily at 70 km/hr once. Tke Cre.

As Ayushkant says and from my own experience, there will be no problems with the battery discharging.Originally posted by ayushkant View PostYes you can easily do that without any modification anywhere. Just open up the headlight section and fit in the Osram NB...
It is NOT a direct fit. There are small tabs at the base of the bulb (metal) that project outwards to form a notch. In the HS1 bulb (OEM), these tabs are futher apart than on a H4 bulb. So what I did was to flatten these tabs on the H4 bulb with a pair of pliers so that it fits correctly.

just noticed a thing while washing my bike today...... that the nuts on the swing-arm end were completely loose and the metallic strip was dangling out of place.....i tightened it later but just wanted to ask what the cause could have been and should they be tightened completely???YAMAHA>>>THE ART OF ENGINEERING.

Hi Gideon. You might want to ask your SVC to adjust the focus of your Headlight before you change it. I felt my HL was bad too till I realized that it wasnt focused right. Once they adjusted that it was much better. Very much sufficient within the city.Originally posted by gideontony View Posthey guys where can i buy a good bright white headlight bulb for my bike...the one i have is white but not bright.the beam is not even hitting the road..i need a good branded white light...where do i find one in chennai???Everyone falls down, doesn't matter...
But its how fast you get up, that matters.....
