It's a killer in the 5-7000 rpm range, but picks up quite well in the lower rpm band too. The good amount of torque is better substantiated because of the less number of gear shifts when fluctuating between low and high speeds. Dint have so much of an issue when riding uphill. In fact i felt it to be much better than my pulsar 150cc classic.
As a single rider i've managed about 118 on the speedo. There after my wish to squeeze more out of it, ran out and so did the necessary empty distance.
Now with a pillion who weighs around 65 kg: The bike felt like the pillion weighed as much as Shrek(Assuming shrek weighs a lot) and was struggling to pull itself ahead in the 3-5k rpm range. After that it was better but not good enough. And the speedometer forgot counting beyond 105 even with full throttle. I guess if I shifted late, it would have helped. Yet to try that out.
So yes, the small rear seat is a sort of implication that the bike is more happy when ridden single. The engine kind of re affirms this. But it will still be my choice for city rides and single rider highway sprints. I'll leave it to the bigger cc bikes to honor themselves with highway sprints with a pillion.
I would totally agree...!!

dude...u get good anti theft devices with bike immobilizers starting from Rs 950 which is totally worth the security it provides...Originally posted by iamvik View PostI was looking for a good disc lock or other anti-theft device for my FZ. After seeing the prices and brands available, I finally bought a Godrej Navtal for Rs. 200/-!
I fix it on the brake disc spokes and it's a good deterrent against theft. When it's not in use, I lock it around the mirror stalk and it rest firmly and quietlysigpicGirls are like roads, more the curves, more the dangerous they are.

reading all your comments i feel like my bike is superior or......im stupid!(touch wood)
seriously i have found no probs in terms of power, yeah the top end is weak but tht was expected...but im really happy with the low and mid and with pillion i struggle only with my DAD who weighs around 80kgs!and im 70!
this coming frm someone who regularly rides along and on a R15 and P200.
sometimes i feel the R15 is only better beyond 75Kmph mark!Smoke rubber, not tobacco.

Ranjith ....sentiments echoed....same feeling...low and mid range torque is the best of its class...always first off the mark...always pinpoint acceleration when required...sigpicGirls are like roads, more the curves, more the dangerous they are.

I did consider immobilisers and alarms, etc., but some research here on Xbhp told me that most of them have serious disadvantages or problems such as alarms that cause nuisance, discharged batteries, etc.Originally posted by k2cool_87 View Postdude...u get good anti theft devices with bike immobilizers starting from Rs 950 which is totally worth the security it provides...
More than everything, what I really needed was a way to physically immobilise my bike and not just preventing the engine from starting. Being a bike, it's easy to just push it away and work out later how to start it. After all, who's going give a second glance at someone pushing a bike on the side of the road? One just assumes that it's broken down.
Insurance companies and police abroad recommend cars and bikes be locked with a clearly visible physical lock such as a steering wheel bar, disc brake lock, etc., that acts as a deterrent. Electronic immobilisers and Chip keys are all well and good but can be defeated with the right equipment. It seems such equipment is already available abroad and many cars are being stolen using it.

Dude, pls give some details as to wher u got d lock from, how practicle is it to use etc.. Even m too worried for my FZ's security & i wud rather go for some physical security like disc lock that u mentioned other then installing the Autocop security sydtems on my bike.

I bought the lock at a hardware shop. Just an ordinary Godrej Navtal padlock. Buy any brand so long as it is of good quality. The brass Navtal are good and don't rust.Originally posted by mitz View PostDude, pls give some details as to wher u got d lock from, how practicle is it to use etc.. Make sure the shackle (the U shaped bar that moves and get locked) is large enough to pass around the spokes of the brake disc. Just pass the shackle around one of the spokes and lock it. This will prevent the wheel from rotating fully.
VERY IMPORTANT! Never forget to remove the lock before you unlock the steering and ignition since it could cause damage to the brake caliper or fork tube if you accelerate hard when you move the bike.
I'll post pictures tomorrow.

@ iamvik....dude...the navtal lock too has its flaws...simple tools like a hacksaw can tear it out and u are good to go....
we have to look as security measures as a deterrent to thieves..the more complicated the security the more time it takes to steal ....which means more chances of being spotted ....with a bike immobilizer its like new tech for old thieves which certainly puts them in two minds bout the steal....They might look at the lock and be happy that the security is old school...
also about the battery prblms u mentioned...i have a frnd who uses this and is facing no issues...its on a 220 that is a different thing but as far as the battery consumption thing goes there is little to worry bout...sigpicGirls are like roads, more the curves, more the dangerous they are.

Hi guys,Originally posted by gideontony View Postguys i'm gonna install a HID today befor that i would like to know if it will afftect the batterys life or something???? let me know ur opinion guys
I am new to this HID term, googling gave me the idea that its high intensity light. I would just like to point out one thing guys , I hope this light does not blind the traffic coming from the opp direction. We all discuss how important safety is and always wear a helmet and so on. We should also think of the safety of our fellow riders/drivers. I mostly take the Aarey route to go home at night and its quiet dark on the road. I've been blinded so many times by opp cars and bikes with their extra bright head lights. I just hope these HID lights are not a pain for the others.

The key word in this case that you've said yourself is "deterrent". A navtal padlock can be broken but it takes time - at least a few minutes with a hacksaw. The time taken to break the lock will itself be the deterrent since it'll be easier for the thief to target some other bike. In fact, adding another lock will be an even bigger deterrent, at the cost of inconvenience.Originally posted by k2cool_87 View Post@ iamvik....dude...the navtal lock too has its flaws...simple tools like a hacksaw can tear it out and u are good to go....

I agree the navtal is not the ultimate protection but it definitely is one of the better ones to deter casual thieves who won't spend more than a few minutes to steal a bike.

I don't know if it'll require a coil change or something. Our battery is supporting Osram Nightbreaker though. Please see the section "Let there be light" under Universal threads for a detailed info...Originally posted by gideontony View Postguys i'm gonna install a HID today befor that i would like to know if it will afftect the batterys life or something???? let me know ur opinion guysStabl'ised by: BlackCat (FZ-16), BlackBird (ThunderBird)
