I got my bike serviced on monday with complaints about the gear shift and mileage. The gear shift seems to have improved a bit but it's still not as good as it was before the previous service. The tuning has been changed and the throttle response and acceleration have suffered. I have to test for mileage today.

I did my puncture on Old Madras Road, Opp RTO office near petrol bunk. I am not facing any problem till date. I did do a back to back 390+350 kms=740 kms to Trichy. I got only 35km/l mileage. I did rip it though above 100 speed. Believe it or not I covered 170+ kms in 2 hrsOriginally posted by dude_phenom View PostHey Galaxtus, Any idea where the mushroom puncture is done in Bangalore? And regarding its efficiency?? I had one puncture prior to my 1st service. Got it repaired. But now i'm facing some weird pressure drops, especially when i travel on bad roads. Got to get it checked.
Thanks in advance.
while coming back. FZ is really AWESOME

My fz beast is on a downhill. I have recorded the lowest ever mileage of 33kmpl on my bike ( instead of the normal 45-48kmpl ). The problem is that I don't know whats the reason. The speed is normally 50-55km/hr with no rash driving.
The only reason I can think is of my chain is very tight. Apart from that there is no reason. Whats the solution to my problem. Please do replyReduce 1 km/hr speed, add 1second 2 ur life.

The SVC guys detuned your FZ completely.....i think they simply turn the A/F screw to lean......Originally posted by iamvik View PostI got my bike serviced on monday with complaints about the gear shift and mileage. thanks broOriginally posted by kinshuk.arya View Postno such problem till now... but one thing is you should not change the figure after w i.e fz runs on 20w40... so the options u should go for are 15w40 or 10w40 and not 15w50.... and when you visit a center for valvoline they will always say its very good....

btw the overheating you were talking about how can one actually know that the vehicle is overheating???
because from the past week my bike after around 8-10 kms starts smelling like something is burning in the engine.... is this because of the overheating??Timon: Orange Yamaha FZ16 2009

heating up very fast.
i measured the engine oil temperature after ridin 10kms at iym service centre and it read 87degree and he showed a book in which idle rpm engine oil temperature is 75-85degree so it might be normal

I prefer MOTUL!Originally posted by viswanath007 View Postcan you specify the best brands also?????????
btw is there any difference b/w mineral oil and sythetic oil

yes there are three types of oils..Mineral,Semi Synthetic and Synthetic.
a simple google search will explain it to you but basically the more synthetic the better
but semi synthetic is enough for our bikes.you will overall have a smoother engine and gear shifts.Smoke rubber, not tobacco.

I am using Agip syntetico on my baby beast and am very happy with the performance. There is a noticeable increase in the overall smootheness of the bike. And there is a slight increase in mileage as well. Any other xbhpians using Agip please share your expeirences."I set out running but I take my time, a friend of the devil is a friend of mine.
