        • No ABS is not your cup of tea.

But ABS will be good for safety if you are getting a more sensitive brake.

            • Solved the mystery of my low mileage. I had thought it to be 33kmpl on a litre of petrol but the robbing petrol pump had filled less than 2 litres or less than 1.95 litres to be precise, for Rs.100.
Went to another pump in a remote area. Filled it for Rs.50.22 ie. 1 litre exactly and by reserve to reserve method calculated the mileage to be about a whopping 54kmpl.

I have an idea for petrol pumps. Try to fill in at a trusted nearby pump as possible. Also at the pumps where there are preset buttons in the pump for Rs50, 100 etc.. you can find that the fuel comes through the hose very quickly. Such pumps will offer LESS fuel than for the required rate. AVoid such pumps.
Go to pumps at remote places and slower the rate of fuel flow from nozzle to tank, more will be the fuel.
              Reduce 1 km/hr speed, add 1second 2 ur life.

              • thts bad man...i thought Kerala at least dint have such robbers.
another good way of avoiding this robbery is to fill in full when your tank is dry!thts what i do

                • Yesterday I changed my oil from Yamalube 15w50 semi to Motul 10w40 synthetic. I have no words to describe how awesomely smooth the bike now feels, be it on the highway or traffic. Even the gears shift softly and smoothly. Heat given by the engine also reduced drastically.

Makes me think why we dont get the option of 300v10w40 at the service centers itself (I think yamalube is motul only)??

                  • Fz spark plugs

                    Hello All..

I have recently retuned my carb by adjusting the air fuel mixture screw (No rejetting done) I best guess is the mixture was was toooo rich previously.

I am yet to calculate the new mileage after retuning, but curiosity took over me and I checked the spark plug and found this ...

How bad is it ? Is it too burnt for a bike which has run 2300Kms only ?

                    Here is another pic :

Please let me know about all your thoughts...

Looks in perfect shape. Light-Brown shade on the ceramic is perfect. White is lean. Blackish is Rich.

W50's are not recommended by YAMAHA and i have no idea why YAMALUBES don't come in W40 semi-synthetic.
MOTUL manufactures the grade specifies by YAMAHA.
