Guys just dropped my bike for it's first paid service ... the service bill is as follows ...
General service - 495Rs
Tappet adjustment - 495Rs
wheel alignment- 100Rs
Chain cleaning and lubrication - 180Rs
TOTAL - 1300Rs . he gave me an estimate for 1.5k ...
.
P.S : Saw another FZ16 there with a 130/70 profile rear tyre ... a reduction from the stock ... would that help with the mileage ??? didn't see the make though ...
P.P.S : Air leakage issue , he said that has to be done outside only
, told him to check it anyway ... he said he will do it ...
People ask me , why are you cribbing about the BHP ? to them I say "MORE is never ENOUGH" xbhp.com

! looks like the motorcycle is pulling its weight ;-). Btw how does this stand in comparison to general servicing costs for other motorcycles?

This is the SVC pulling it's weight ... it can be done for about 300Rs outside or even 250Rs for that matter ... only the general service is high . the rest are in the normal range ....Originally posted by rkakkar View Post1.3K

FZ stock rear tyre is 140/60 R17... The guy you saw must have put a Pirelli Sports Demon of size 130/70 R17 which would actually shorten the gearing.. so mileage will reduce...Originally posted by nand15 View PostGuys just dropped my bike for it's first paid service ... the service bill is as follows ...

You can go for the same tyre with size.. 140/70 R 17 which will slightly make you gearing taller.. which will will give slight increase in mileage..
The tyre i think cost around Rs.2400 to 3000- Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle.

That's interesting ... could U explain how the smaller profile tyre results in shorter gearing ? I was thinking , smaller profile - less contact patch with the road - more mileage ...Originally posted by chinmayscorpion View PostFZ stock rear tyre is 140/60 R17... Happy to clarify..Originally posted by nand15 View PostThat's interesting ... could U explain how the smaller profile tyre results in shorter gearing ? I was thinking , smaller profile - less contact patch with the road - more mileage ...
130/70 R17..
130 is for 130mm
70 is for 70% aspect ratio i.e., 70%(thickness measured from rim)of the width
R17 stands for 17" wheel rim diameter..
Fz stock tyre is 140/60 R17..
So the total width of the tyre will be bigger than the above 130one...
more the power the engine will have to give to turn the lower diameter wheels so shorter..
But if you put 140/70R17 the it will have a slightly bigger overall dia of the wheel so taller gearing...so not very much but more mileage..
So instead of slightly lowering the mileage..why not slightly increase it..

Oh man 1.3k is a lot of money. I doubt if i'll be spending that much on Petrol itself in 70 days.Everyone falls down, doesn't matter...
But its how fast you get up, that matters.....
