        Hi! Friends
My FZs is behaving weird since last service, when i accelerate my bike in first or second gear some times bike gives a huge jerk or shock which was some times accompanied by a sound from silencer like bhuk but sound didn't comes every time. The jerk is so hard that bike looses balance. During last service svc changed spark plug may be the problem is with spark plug.

Check your choke cable. I had this problem earlier. After replacing my choke cable the jerk problem solved.
For sound, spark plug might be a problem.

Don't check choke lever alone, check the full cable.

but seriously, It can be from a number of things.
            time/km since last oil change
            cam chain not tensioned
            burnt valve/s (too lean)
            valve tappets need adjustment
            cam timing is out
            worn sparkplug
high tension (HT) lean earthing out
            CDI/electrics connection loose
            carb tuning (too lean/rich)
            carb blocked
            Carb choke stuck on/partly on
cat converter collapsed (very rare but can happen)
            bad fuel
            worn piston rings
            blocked airfilter
            PCV blockage

The list can go on and on. Need more details.

How to locate PCV Valve in Yamaha FZS?

Did a search on the thread for PCV (positive crankcase ventilation)

Since it says Valve in the name I'm assuming it's a reed-vavle responding to piston-movements.

                Discussed here:

Recently my fzs is having a really bad fuel efficiency around 20-25 kmpl.the carb setting is perfect!I cannot understand what the problem is!before changing the spark plug, the fuel efficiency was good.when I said this to the mech,he said spark plug has nothing to do with the fuel efficiency! Is that true? Recently I've been observing there's a lot of ticking noise from the engine even when it's not too hot! What may be the reason?

Bro. Lot of things depends for good mileage. Check the spark plug .
1st.Its the only thing responsible to burn the air fuel mixture, which not burnt correctly is responsible for bad mileage.
2nd. For tic tic noise check intake snd exhaust valve clearance. Tappets adjustment.
                    3rd. Clean the carburretor.
4th. Minor but sometimes responsible. Check the free movement of wheels.

Open up the spark plug again and check. Is it running rich? If not the problem is elsewhere.

                        hii friends.....

I got Fz-S and it is fitted with iridium spark plug and joel ffe

and I also have a K& N filter.when I try to fit both of them,my bike behaves madly.i cant control its acceleration during the ride and also it jerks frequently.

with the stock filter my bike was good.

I think may be i have to do the jetting.but I'm not much familiar with that.and i also cant find jets for my fz.

Can i find a good solution and a mechanic in Hyderabad to fit the K& N to my joeled ffe and do the jetting or tuning required for my li"l monster???

Get rid of the Mods and run your bike stock, you will be at peace.
The real beauty lies in throttle's twist!!

K&N filter allows more air to pass through than the stock filter. Therefore your carb becomes lean tuned. You have to adjust the carb and make it richer to compensate for the increased air intake.
Does your bike accelerate like crazy even with little throttle especially at low rpm? Does the rpm keep increasing even with steady throttle? When you abruptly close the throttle does it feel like hitting the front brake? Is clutch on/off transition jerky? If so your bike is definitely lean tuned.

all the syptoms u have quoted appeared on my bike when it is with K & N and ffe.
How to know the correct and fuel ratio for my bike depending on the mods that I did????

Basically the only way to know the correct AFR is by ride and feel method.
You know what a lean tuned bike feels like. So you can safely turn the AFR screw anti clockwise and make it richer. I'm sure you'll end up making it richer than it should but you'll know what too rich feels like. Then you can start making it leaner in small steps and see which setting gives you the best combination of acceleration and smooth ride.
I know this advice sounds too vague and not systematic but this is how I have solved the problem when it happened to my bike. Until you know what too lean or too rich feels like you won't know what perfect is.
Before you try changing the AFR always count how many turns the default setting is so you can revert back to it in case you screw things badly.
In any case rich is better than lean.
And feel free to ask me any doubts. I'll be happy to help you.
