Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Hi guys. The stock Exide battery on my 3 year old FZS has stopped working after doing 22k kms.
I have a mobile charger installed on my bike and will be getting a projector system for the headlights too.
So keeping this in mind, which battery should I go for - Exide, Amaron or any other? What about those maintenance free / dry batteries?

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Finally i figured out the jerking problem in my bike at mid rpms. It was not anything related with the carburetor. Was the worn out swing arm bushes. Put your bike in center stand and push the rear tire to sides. If there is play, for sure the bushes are kaput. Changed the swing arm bushes, and some wheel bushes. Costed me Rs. 1000 including labour. I know it is a bit high for this job, but considering that they did it while i waited in the lobby and i had to wait only 30 minutes, & the figured out the big problem instantly, kudos to yamaha service at chalakudy, kerala. They rock! My hero honda service was pathetic & i sold off the zmr just because of the pathetic service.RVM is a good tool to see your buddys losing behind while racing :)

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
You need to have a good electronic timer unit connected to your seat. 30 minutes each, wake up from the seat and rub the bums hard. I repeat, make it hard. If possible, carry a dc fan and cool down the ass. All the bestRVM is a good tool to see your buddys losing behind while racing :)

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
I read your query as "sore bums" during long rides.Originally posted by thewanderer85 View PostHow do I prevent saddle sore while traveling long distances on my fz?
Apply heavy amounts of moisturizer & Boroline type of ointment followed by layers of talcum powder before you wear you pants. This help to a great extent.
A softer seat will also help. Too soft is again not a good choice.
Avoid wearing the V-type undies. The elastics hurt bad in a long run. You can try out cycling shorts as inners which also have gel in them for added comfort.

Hello people, which brake oil do you guys recommend. Currently I am using KBK Super 5 DOT 3. I just asked for brake oil and this was given to me. Is it good. Going through the thread I read about DOT4.
Also is it ok to order this, will it work with our bikes?

At what kms was this done?Originally posted by devils_friend View PostEngine undergoes a mini rebuild with Intake Valve and Exhaust Valve changed, oil seal change, removal of carbon from the head, gasket change, crankcase changed (it was damaged). Total setback of Rs. 7067.
How old is your bike? Any noticeable difference after this work?

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
DOT 4 is much better than DOT 3. If you could change to DOT 4, it would be much better. It has higher heat resistance that DOT 3 and this, in turn gives better braking performance.Originally posted by rahlp View PostHello people, which brake oil do you guys recommend. I am using Bosch DOT 4 brake oil.
Ride safe and have fun.

Done @ 31200kms, had to open the engjne because the crankcase was damaged, else I wouldn't have touched the engine. Bike is 4yrs old.Originally posted by Kartik Shetty View PostAt what kms was this done?

Headlight can be replaced, Head cannot be. Wear a helmet.
