When you said you spent money restoring ... was the brake assembly also handled. I wouldn't take the risk ... especially with the brake. Have it checked out.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Did you bed-in the pads !!! With the hose ... apart from age you need to check for visible damages. Also try to gauge the contact b/w pad and disk.Originally posted by Kartik Shetty View Post

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Bed in? That happens automatically, right? Yes the brakes were serviced & oil was changed to dot4. The hose doesn't have any visible damage.. I will get the brake checked out by this weekend..Originally posted by Naveen Vajja View PostDid you bed-in the pads !!! With the hose ... apart from age you need to check for visible damages. Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Sorry my friend it doesn't. Especially when the rotors are mated with older organic brake pads. There is a transfer of the materials from older pad which either be removed pror by fine sanding or IPA treatment.Originally posted by Kartik Shetty View PostBed in? Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
U need to check the intake and exhuast valves, did you listen tik tik noise from the engine, if yes, then change the valve seats too. Remember, white smoke is a valve issue and you may suffer power loss due to incomplete combustion. Black smoke means the piston rings are gone.Originally posted by franklin ros View PostHi guys I have a problem with my bike i have changed the bore and piston new ones but the bike feels sloppy and at high rpm it gives out white smoke what might be the problem please help me guys

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Need help, since saturday the bike isnt behaving properly. The engine oil light flickers and the console doesnt lit up. After playing with indicator and headlight switch, the console lits up and it cranks. If i use the kill switch and switch it on again, the same story happens. Thought it will be a battery issue, replaced the battery today morning and the problem still persists. The horn sometimes blows sometimes doesn't. What is the issue?
Just noticed that, the bike kick starts easily, but doesn't start with self.

Check your battery terminals & also whether the wiring is in perfect shape.Originally posted by devils_friend View PostNeed help, since saturday the bike isnt behaving properly. Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Guys I have Strange problem with the self start. It only works when I push the self start button and turn the key to ON state simultaneously. If I put the key in and use self start nothing happens. What could be the problem mechanic cleaned the whole switch set and I also used rust removal spray too, but the self doesnt seem to work properly as it was before. Mechanic is suggesting its a Key Set problem and recommends changing the whole Key Set. Please advise.
