Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Thanks a ton for the information! Does it help in real life windblast? Also what brackets were used to secure it? And i also saw that u are using unicorn mirrors, how did you fit them cause i had to remove the metal part below the mirror at one side due to different thread design.Originally posted by ALI.R View PostHey Kartik.! Its a AS200 stock windshield. Amazing, it's fits perfectly on the FZ. Cost 650 buck from a Bajaj spare parts shop. My friendly neighbourhood mechanic did the fit. ☺

How to check whether the fork razor is in good condition or not.I didnt know bikes forks were that hairy.Originally posted by nadz11.ns View PostOne question. . What are those 'fork razor' things ?
On other note what he refers to is probably cone set.
Do a google search for " steering bearing diagnosis " and follow the diagnostic procedure. Its same for every bike.

Ok. By razor or blade, I guess you are talking about the cone set or steering column bearing unit that you have replaced as it had been making "thuk thuk" noises under braking of hitting bumpers or potholes.Originally posted by sivanivas View Post10 days back I have replaced my bikes fork razor set. Please take your bike to the nearest mechanic or Yamaha ASCV and ask them to "tighten" the steering as its making sound.
Its a very simple process and a local mechanic charges 10 - 20 Rs for it. Get it done and I assure your issue will be resolved. Make sure they don't over tighten as the handle movement will become tight in that case.
And don't worry, its absolutely normal for brand new cone sets to make noises after some amount of riding as they set in and some clearances are formed.
Would you mind sharing some pics of the new add-on ??Originally posted by ALI.R View PostHey Kartik.! Its a AS200 stock windshield. Amazing, it's fits perfectly on the FZ. Cost 650 buck from a Bajaj spare parts shop. My friendly neighbourhood mechanic did the fit. ☺

"Mallik bazar" should be your paradise to get such stuff at very cheap rates. You can also find such stuff in Welington.Originally posted by saikatbyte View PostCan anybody suggest me an aftermarket skoda/vw/audi type horns (bosch symphony type) for my fazer (kick-start, amaron 5ah sealed battery) without harming electrical parts/wiring. Thanks in advance
Make sure you drive the horns through a relay harness to avoid any kind of wiring damage.

How does it behave with a pillion on board and on inclines roads like Kasara etc ??

where do these 'clearances' form ?
Im assuming it to be the lower-most race on t-stem which is recommended to be fitted by some sort of press machine.

Thanks brother!! I am inclining towards Roots Windtone, but it is 12V/5A, i.e. 60Watts per horn, A relay harness is required.Originally posted by bobisbacktorock View Post"Mallik bazar" should be your paradise to get such stuff at very cheap rates. You can also find such stuff in Welington.

Bro,I haven't been able to fix it yet. From what other members have stated here is that, the cruising ability of bike increases and engine feels less strained on highways when cruising.Originally posted by bobisbacktorock View Post

Headlight can be replaced, Head cannot be. Wear a helmet.

Disaster as in ??Originally posted by deville_56 View Post15T on 140/60-17 gives a 140/70ish experience. Drop in acceleration, but improved cruisability. Inclines with pillion is not much trouble. 140/70 plus 15T is a disaster.

Mostly the SVCs use a long big nut-bolt kind of a thing for the pressing part which is definitely not accurate and does not sit everything properly. Hence after a little riding, there are some clearances between the race bearings(may be, not sure). But these noises are quite common with Yamahas and get resolved by tightening.Originally posted by curve_king View PostSirji I have a doubt.
