Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S

    Suddenly Bike refused to start today morning, not even kick start, opened the battery (Exide 12V 5AH lead acid cell) from bike, again fixed it, after few more, approx 50-60 kicks, bike starts with hiccups, then after revving the engine about 2 minutes, it is okay, but the self start is not working while switching off the engine in traffic, the self starter is behaving like extracting every juice from battery but not able to start up, have to kick start again n again, now in the evening, the bike is refused to start again, I couldn't kick after 25-30 kicks, my legs are already complaining.
    Is there the BATTERY problem?
    Can I service the battery, for acid or distilled water filling or electrolyte plates' washing.
    Or buy an Amaron Pro 9AH battery (dry cell)?
    Upgrading from 5AH Lead Acid Cell to 9AH dry cell is recommended? I have twin headlight bulb connection in my Fazer v1 (June, 2014), i.e. both bulbs are ON for upper-lower configuration.
    Suggestions needed.

      Hey guys. My fz rear suspension is stuck and the
      rear side of the bike has sunk down. It wont come up. What to do? Any DIY suggestions?

        How old is the battery? 9AH battery will be bigger in size and will not fit in the slot.

        Has the mono shock gone kaput? Check the bushing of mono shock, it maybe the culprit.
        The real beauty lies in throttle's twist!!

        Headlight can be replaced, Head cannot be. Wear a helmet.

          Replace battery. The battery is so dead that the CDI is not getting power to produce the spark.

          Prefer a maintenance free battery from Amaron of same config.

          I own a Fazer fi v2.0 and both lamps work in HIGH(stock) and I reconfigured even both lamps to glow in LOW. Still no battery drain issues.

          Though I am not sure Fazer v1 & v2 has same charging unit or not.

          Did u crash ?? It happened with my bike when I had a low side fall.

          Anyways, replace the rear suspension.

            One of my friend faced the same issue when he was riding mercilessly & hit a pothole at some higher speeds for the fz - replacement is the only remedy mate.

              The battery was about 20 months, having mfg date 2years ago!

              Yes... I took that culprit battery to our nearest battery servicing shop, the electrician checked and told me the electrolytic plate is damaged and battery won't be charged again and is a scrap now. I bought Amaron Pro Rider 5AH yesterday and fix it to my bike. Everything is Just Fine! Thanks a lot

                  Did u crash ?? It happened with my bike when I had a low side fall.

                  Anyways, replace the rear suspension.
                  Hey man. Yes I did have a low sidefall crash in December. The mono shock seemed fine then but maybe it went kaput gradually. Will chexk and get it replaced.

                    Hey man. That sounds like a plausible scenario in my case. I had given my bike to my friend for a bit. Will check and get it replaced.

                            10 days back I have replaced my bikes fork razor set. But today again I hear "thuk thuk" sound from my bike's fork when crossing the speed breaker.
                            Guys any ideas please?
                            How to check whether the fork razor is in good condition or not.

                                Hey Kartik.! Its a AS200 stock windshield. Amazing, it's fits perfectly on the FZ. Cost 650 buck from a Bajaj spare parts shop. My friendly neighbourhood mechanic did the fit. ☺
