Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
You can get it from Yamaha SVC. A couple of years back I had emailed Yamaha customer care enquiring about the exhaust and they had sent me to part number and asked to order them through any Yamaha SVC. You should first check with svc.Originally posted by STREET RIDER View Post

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
It is available at certain dealers only. 2 years back it was 12k, heard it has dropped to sub-10k level, not sure. In Kerala, it is available only at Trissur and Cochin dealers only.Originally posted by STREET RIDER View PostOkay i don't want to mess with the AF ratio...
Just tell me if adding a daytona dagrex exhaust will help..
And where would I get one.and the cost.?#RetiredRider

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
The Dagrex Exhaust is officially the one for Yamaha. But a lot of people/reviewers have mentioned that it does zit for the money it costs.
Also when you have an FFE, there will be reduced back pressure on the exhaust. You will need to get a better breather and jets. Trust me when I say its an exact science and takes effort to get it right.
Refer to the 'Powerhouse FZ18' sticky. First used the RC FFE followed by Leo Vince and then Yoshi pipes for the FZ.
But EOD its your call ... is the money spent worth the slight improvement in performance because any system will be around 10K and higher ones like Yoshimura will be over 20K.When I'm on the road, I'm indestructible. No one can stop me... but they try.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Hey guys,
so I went to my trusted mechanic for servicing also asked him to look at my mileage since it has dropped below 30kmpl now, his advice was to change the carb as the diaphragm and some other thing in the carb has gone kaput.
Do we still get the older model carb? because I think the carb in newer ones has smaller jet sizes for more milleage which ultimately results in a drop of power. and what is the price of the same if available?

Has anybody installed extra auxillary lights (fog lights / LED lights) with 60W headlamp? Or can anybody throw some light on the same.Last edited by devils_friend; 01-22-2016, 04:47 PM.The real beauty lies in throttle's twist!!
Headlight can be replaced, Head cannot be. Wear a helmet.

I don't think the stock battery can handle this much load.Originally posted by devils_friend View PostHas anybody installed extra auxillary lights (fog lights / LED lights) with 60W headlamp? Or can anybody throw some light on the same.
What you can do is use a dynamo to power the aux. lights. I had read this somewhere in lighting thread. Don't know exactly how to fit it, try posting in Lighting thread.

Upgrade to a 9MAH battery, change the RR unit with one from APE and get the unit rewound with a higher gauge wiring.Originally posted by devils_friend View PostHas anybody installed extra auxillary lights (fog lights / LED lights) with 60W headlamp? Or can anybody throw some light on the same.
Again all this is theoretical. You need to measure precisely all the voltage and currents so that you don't endup with major electrical problems which again very few people will be able to solve.
On my FZ, with only the 9ah battery, and a 35W bulb the bike voltage dropped seriously and I got rid of all of them. When I'm on the road, I'm indestructible. No one can stop me... but they try.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Does Weak front tyre and damaged front wheel bearing affect mileage? My bike gives only 26 km per litre. Done a service last week, changed throttle, choke, clutch cables, spark plug, oil, coil and air filter.6 Even mechanic has adjusted AF screw for mileage. Still am getting only 26kmpl.
Someone please share your ideas to increase the mileage.

Buying a new Yamaha FZ 16 (Version 1.0)
All of my styling buddies wanted me to go to Gixxer. I wanted invest on already proven mean 150cc machine. Moreover I have driven Gixxer, FZ16 and FZ-FI, at least for me FZ16 comfort level during long ride were awesome.
People said why you are buying FZ16 v1 at least go for Fz-Fi , my answer is 'after 5 to 6 years FZ16 version 1 gonna be vintage.. '
Let me be proud owner of a Vintage from Yamaha. !!!Last edited by kesavKay; 01-25-2016, 09:10 PM.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
No doubt that fz is a really good bike even today. But there are better alternatives available. V2 is just too smooth compared to v1.Originally posted by kesavKay View PostBuying a new Yamaha FZ 16 (Version 1.0)

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Yes it does ... But more importantly it is very dangerous to ride that way. Please get it rectified ASAP.Originally posted by sivanivas View PostDoes Weak front tyre and damaged front wheel bearing affect mileage? My bike gives only 26 km per litre. AFR adjusted for mileage just means that your engine is running lean which is not good for your engine. Also engine gets heard soon and you will lose on the top end.
Mileage depends on your riding style.
You need to be in the right gear at the right speed. Ride like a maniac and yes that mileage number drops very quickly in an FZ.
Check the chain slack and ensure proper lubrication at all times.
Quit using the clutch and let engine help you in braking.
Was the oil filter changed along with the oil. Was the retainer cleaned as well.
Maintain proper tire pressure.
A bike is like a woman ... Treat her right and she shows you heaven. Ignore her and be ready to face hell. When I'm on the road, I'm indestructible. No one can stop me... but they try.
