If your clutch gives a burning smell or if the revs rise but speed doesn't you should change clutch plates. And make it a point to change pressure plates also, along with clutch plates.

Apart from this, keep an eye on the battery level and get your forks overhauled with new oil and oil seals.
Yes changed them a couple of months back.

I will be replacing my brake shoes soon... Has anyone tried any other brand brake shoe? Like I've heard honda unicorn users using splendor brake shoes..

Yamaha brake shoes are good at what they do and also don't cost a bomb.

If you want to improve braking, use steel-braided brake line for the front. You can use Pulsar 220's brake line. Many members have used it ad have shard positive reviews for the same (i also want to but couldn't do so till now).

        Ride safe and have fun.

My 3 years old(36k odo) fazer has a engine problem. Observed a black smoke, mechanic has said that piston rings are damaged, it needs to be changed soon otherwise piston and other parts also will damage. And my bike is having some thuk thuk sound, I can feel that sound from my bikes foot rest too. Only on slow speeds am getting that sound. Mechanic said that the sound is due to loose clutch bell, and it needs to be reconditioned in lathe. For total repair cost would be around 5-6k.

Please suggest me that whether I can service my bike engine or can go for a new bike. If I service my bike's engine, how many kilometers I can use it without any further engine issues.

When I enquire Yamaha for exchange of my bike, they are telling that my bike's worth is only 30k, Is it okay or too low.

          Please advise.

Even i have vibration issues on the foot pegs but engine sound is smooth and power delivery is also good... What can be the reason for footpeg vibrations?

What I know is black smoke doesn't mean damaged rings. If engine oil is getting into the combustion chamber, it produces white smoke. Black smoke is due to high fuel content.

So sir, p220 brake line is okay to use then ?
No unwanted or extra pressure on piston of master kit requiring frequent replacement of the same ? :sly:
I'm asking about master kit specifically because I've heard a lot about it being changed frequently if you fidget with/improper fitment of the hydraulic brake components.

Not only black smoke. The bike has some unwanted engine sound. Not always but frequently. Engaging clutch will reduce that sound..

Yes, that has been replaced by NGK G Power DPR8EGP-9.
Getting the old plug is difficult if not impossible.
