See you cant completely blame the engine oil for that sounds. Yes the yamalube golden bottle which is used by svc people at each service is a good oil but for only for few hundred kilometers after that the engine oil looses its viscosity engine becomes rough and it screams if u reach the speeds above 75+.
Whats your odo reading right now??
The engine sound changes if it is hot or if it is stressed in the traffic you cant expect it to maintain that smooth character at the first startup in the morning times.

bro I have the v2 .. apart from cosmetic changes the engine in v2 and v3 is the same so I can tell you about the engine and other technicals of the bike .. personally i like the looks of v2 more than the v3 .. v3 feels plasticy to me

      1. Since the engine is the same .. i think the v3 might eventually have the tappet and coin rattling sound (I had both .. tappets were adjusted at 3rd service and now coin rattling sound remains)
      2. I didn't face any major stalling issues .. but in the 1600kms I have done .. my bike turned off on its own 3 times .. once I stopped at a red light while the clutch was pulled .. it just turned off .. the other 2 times it happened while I was riding .. as soon as I pulled the clutch .. the bike turned off
      3. There were no starting issues till now .. on cold starts .. the bike starts in one self .. when the engine is heated .. sometimes it takes longer selfs .. or 2 tries to start
      4. I have been also facing a strange whining noise .. which starts at 45kmph .. sometimes i feel it is coming from the front .. sometimes it feels like the chain .. i tried cleaning and lubing the chain properly but noise remains .. showed to the svc many times but not resolved
      5. Handling is the best part of the bike .. i fell in love while i took the test ride and that is the main reason i bought it
      6. when engine is cold .. the sound is music to my ears and engine feels like butter .. i wonder what will happen when I switch to motul
      7. there is some vibration on the handlebar at 4k rpm .. whether it is a cold start or not .. that vibration at 4k is the same since day one .. and happens in all gears
      8. mileage i am getting 40-42.5 kmpl in the city .. during break in while i stayed in eco mode all the time .. i got 48kmpl
      9. after sales service is good only for changing oil and cleaning of bike .. they don't even properly know how to lube a chain .. yamaha customer care is non existent .. they have only one reply .. go to svc .. if problem is not solved .. show to engineer

overall I would say the bike is awesome .. the best in its category but it is being let down big time by the after sales service .. issues can happen in any vehicle .. but if the company is not able to solve it .. then it is disappointing

i changed the oil and the filter at 915kms on 7/12/18 and now my odo i think is at 1610kms .. now what happens is .. after riding for a few mins .. the coin rattling sound increases .. it is there in lower speeds as well .. i don't usually touch 75 and above .. but engine overall feels stressed and gear shifts become very hard .. as you increase the speed .. the sound increases along with vibrations .. the sound comes from the right hand side of the bike .. and those vibrations are also on the right side of the bike

Thanks for the info bro. My hornet also has little vibes exactly in 3.5k rpm in every gear, but above 3.5k rpm it's smooth . Breaking is superb because 3 piston calliper, enjoying the ride [emoji4][emoji4][emoji4]

What i am thinking is trying the yamalube sporty premium in my next service and if bikes behaves normally then i'll keep using it.. but if that also keeps on loosing its viscosity and overheating.. then i'll stop following the yamaha recommend service schedule.. kiss goodbye to my warranty and shift to a better engine oil brand and enjoy my bike to the fullest

ohh yeah bro forgot about the braking.. overall the brakes are not great.. the rear brake specially.. mine is the double disc variant.. the rear brake doesn't have much stopping power.. i think drum brakes are better than it.. while riding if anytime i have to do extreme braking.. i always apply both the brakes.. i would say 80 to 90% stopping power comes from the front brake and the rear brakes don't do much.. the pillion falls on the rider.. feels like doing a stoppie.. i have heard about this issue from someone else as well.. he also has the same bike.. bought a few days before me

Fz v3 doesn't have RLP feature, like pulsars and ktm's thats the reason for stoppie inspite of having abs. Rear disc activates after 2k kilometers of use, before that it's useless, i also felt the same [emoji23][emoji23]

hahaha.. that guy in that video is awesome.. he said he is getting some gharrr ghurrr sound in the bike..

now summers have arrived and this will become a major issue for commuters.. engine will loose its smoothness in a few mins

when the v3 was launched i heard that yamaha is going to do changes in the fz engine in 2020.. maybe they'll solve such issues

So you say that the even fz V3 have the same engine noise like the V2?
My friend owns a 6 year old FZ midship version his bike engine doesnt even produce any tappet noise or any noise. I think due to the re design of the outer engine and internals the sound can be more in the version 2. Observe the engine design of version 1 & 2 they are slightly different.

v3 and v2 have the same engine.. yamaha has simply done cosmetic changes and added abs to the bike.. i saw many disappointed people when they came to know that yamaha didn't do anything for the power.. as fz has the lowest bhp in its segment (for me it is enough) .. i heard that in 2020 yamaha is going to make changes to the fz engine for increased power

the engine sounds which bug the v2 will bug the v3 as well.. even the fz25 has exactly the same issue.. i came to know about my issue from the fz25 thread.. where i saw many people have mentioned that they have been facing the tappet and coin rattling sound

you are right about the fz v1 as the engine is different.. i don't think this issue was there when the v2 was launched.. they have done some change down the line in the fz v2 which is causing this issue along with the fz25

But i think 300V would be an overkill for FZ.
I feel liquimoly oils performs better than motul.
I had bad experience with motul 7100 in P220.

what my research tells me is that not every bike responds positively with every oil .. like Motul 7100 might be bad for p220 but good for maybe say fz .. it is just that one has to experiment what suits their bike the best .. I would say if you had bad experience with 7100 .. you might have awesome experience with 300v .. though I have heard mixed reviews about 300v .. some say it is strictly for racing and derives the best possible performance from the engine and needs to be changed frequently .. some say if you use this oil for street .. it will last very long and gives the smoothest engine feel and performance .. that is why i am closely following sr motoworld since I have the same bike with same engine sound issues to see what is his long term review of the oil .. till now he is positive .. he has now upgraded to the 300v2

I have tried both 300v and 7100 also yamhalube mineral and synth the r15 oil on my fz. Engine behaves smoothest with 7100 10w40.

300v is alot better than yanha oil both mineral and semi synth. And bike gives good response. 7100 simply takes that experience to next level despite being cheaper. If you don't do 20+ km stretches Yamaha synth oil is cheaper and good option. I usually drain within 4k kms. Though motul oils can certainly see you through 6k kms. 7100 is best if you can spare the amount. Else go with synth oil of Yamaha.

I can assure you that you won't regret spending on 7100. Do stick to recommended grade though. 10w40.
