    Recently i changed my fzs chain sprocket kit (with new bearing and rubber dampeners), but after that i found more vibrations what i got from the old one....

    Clutch lever and choke set changed recently,

    And gear shift becomes hard and it is difficult to downshift and find neutral when the bike is running,

    while it is off i found neutral easily...

    I found some kind of stiching sound, i thought it is from time-chain or valves ...

    Also these things happens because of bad wornout tyres.... tyre change in schedule...

    Please advise... it is preowned 2014 model FZS, odo 21100 kms and oil changed before 500 kms approx...

      Can ep90 gear oil be used as chain lube for the o ring chain of the fz ? Is it a good alternative for the expensive chain lube sprays?

          But even with chain lube sprays which I have used they get thrown away from the chain onto the rims.

            Use 140 grade, i use it in my 2018 hornet, the rims remain relatively clean. Just don't overlube and wipe the excess oil with a sponge.

              Hornet does not have o ring chain so using any kind of lube is just fine. I wanted to know how gear oil work on o ring chains. Cbr 250 has an o ring chain & some cbr owners say that its mentioned in the manual to use gear oil to lubricate, whereas yamaha mentions on its manual to lubricate with a special o ring chain lubricant, so there is a bit of confusion.

                    No, my chain is clean as new, just don't overlube. I do regular 90 to 100 kmph riding . In such speeds only gear oil is best, but if ride mainly in city you can go for any reputed spray lubricant.

                      After doing a lot of digging I have finalized to give the 90 grade oil a try. If I find it efficient I may give the 140 grade oil a try in future. I have used chain lube sprays for quite a while the tvs and the oks one and they do not last long especially at 80+ speeds and still they are expensive compared to gear oil. I have heard that motul is good but at around 490 rupees its way too expensive for me.

                        Yeah, you can use 90 grade oil . Put it in a oil can and apply. I apply 140 grade oil with a toothbrush, it's very thick hence less spillage [emoji4]

                            KTM manual also mentions using gear oil for lubing, which also got O-ring chain.

                              regarding the chain lube topic .. can someone confirm if lubing the chain on your own voids the warranty? I have been getting the chain lubed from the SVC but they have recently increased the charge of doing it from Rs 100 to Rs 150 .. now I think it is better to do it myself and save some money but I am unsure if this will void the warranty
