Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Go for NGK Stock CPR8EA-9 Standard Spark plug (NGK 2306 CPR8EA-9 Nickel Spark Plug)Originally posted by rahlp View PostHello guys, what spark plug do you recommend to use in fazer, NGK G power or Iridium?
If you are willing to install NGK Iridium Spark Plug then NGK Iridium CPR8EAIX-9.
But, must change the ignition cable to NGK Ignition Cable.
You will increase Highway mileage about 2-2.5%.
Maintain the right spark gap recommended by manufacturer (0.8-0.9mm I guess), check owners manual.

It is not tappet issue. It is the sound of the timing chain. Replace it otherwise in hot conditions, timing chain will expand and will cause more khis khis sound...Originally posted by Kartik Shetty View PostBump bump

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
How long does the fazer/fz chain last.. I have changed 3 times in 3 year and again its troubling.. if its tight then the front sprocket makes sound while in gear (doesnt make sound when not in gear or when clutch is pressed).. and if its kept little loose then it keeps making that sound that something is loose in every pothole.
Any solutions?
P.S my motorcycle is regularly serviced and chain lubricated.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
The chain set lasts for about 20000 kms if properly cleaned, lubricated and slake adjusted. I think you problem is the slake adjustment/clearance is 30- 40 mm. Please check the same.Originally posted by rahlp View PostHow long does the fazer/fz chain last.. Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
How did you know that only the front sprocket has been changed did the service personnel tell you or did you suggest them to change only the front sprocket during the chain changeOriginally posted by rahlp View PostOnly the front sprocket, I have always got my service from yamaha authorised. So when did you last change rear sprocket. Is it possible to post a photo of your rear sprocket. I think the rear sprocket is the problem
Cheers
