Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Like i said you can try LIQUIMOLY Fs oils also they are imported from germany and the oil provides outstanding engine protection & the gear shifts become buttery smooth, Refinement levels increases in the fz.Originally posted by vanp View Post

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
This sound is normal in the FZ25. It's an inherent characteristic of the engine. We just aren't used to getting such sounds from our Unicorns/Pulsars/Splendors, etc.Originally posted by vanp View Postwhere i saw many people have mentioned that they have been facing the tappet and coin rattling sound
The same sound exists in the Fazer 250 (Brazil)/XT250/XTZ250/XT225/Serow 250, which have similar/same engines.
However, it's not normal in the 150cc FZ range.Last edited by Shashank K R; 04-20-2019, 07:35 PM.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Yes. If you succeed in getting a confirmation in this regard over e mail from customer care. Price wise even 7100 is highly priced and probably overkill for a meagre engine like fz so anything priced above it should altogether be avoided.Originally posted by vanp View Postreally bro .. before the first service I asked SVC about this and they said we cannot use other oil .. and once I brought my own motul chain lube and they refused to use it .. does yamaha really agree with using other oil if confirmed via mail?स्वभावो नोपदेशेन शक्यते कर्तुमन्यथा !

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
I have heard complaints from only the 2018 fz and now 2019 fz v3 owners.. check these vids:-Originally posted by Shashank K R View PostThis sound is normal in the FZ25. this guy uprgraded to the 300v after getting fed up of overheating engine, hard gear shifts and in his words "kirrr kirrr" sound from the engine.. he has the 2018 v2.. same as mine
2. https://youtu.be/7-zMMMuAN5k
he has the v3 and same issue described by him.. video reported here by fellow member #bpk
previously i wasnt able to describe the sound.. i named it "trrr trrr".. but when i saw the fz25 forum and members mentioning the coin rattling sound.. i immediately related my issue with it.. it exactly sounds like a coin is rattling inside the engine.. the sound is very low when engine is cold.. but as soon as it gets heated the sound increases.. and is higher in upper rpms..
i also closely listened to some videos where a user has shown the coin rattling sound in his fz25.. mine sounds exactly the same.. example:-

thanks bro.. I'll give it a try then..Originally posted by S3maphor3 View PostYes. If you succeed in getting a confirmation in this regard over e mail from customer care. Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
On the FZ25 it is expected and is normal. There's not much of a relation between the FZ25 and FZ v3 engines, they're built very differently.Originally posted by vanp View Postwhen i saw the fz25 forum and members mentioning the coin rattling sound.. i immediately related my issue with it.. it exactly sounds like a coin is rattling inside the engine.. the sound is very low when engine is cold.. but as soon as it gets heated the sound increases.. and is higher in upper rpms.

The fz 2.0 engine is noisy when it becomes hot. Seen many bikes with this issue.Originally posted by Shashank K R View PostThis sound is normal in the FZ25. It's an inherent characteristic of the engine. We just aren't used to getting such sounds from our Unicorns/Pulsars/Splendors, etc.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Hmm, I've heard some FZ v2 producing this sound. Not all of them do that though. Perhaps it's related to the valve clearances/CCT/oil.Originally posted by truelypulsarian View PostThe fz 2.0 engine is noisy when it becomes hot. Seen many bikes with this issue.

I wouldn't relate the engines.. but they definitely share that sound.. i am 100% sure.. check out the videos i mentioned bro.. also check out the fz25 video i added at the end of the post.. mine sounds exactly the same when hotOriginally posted by Shashank K R View PostOn the FZ25 it is expected and is normal. Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
The "coin rattle" on the FZ25 starts at around 4.5k and stops at around 5.5k RPM. It isn't there at idle. The valve clearances were probably not set correctly for the FZ25 in the video. One thing is that the sound reduces to negligible levels after some 7000kms.Originally posted by vanp View PostI wouldn't relate the engines.. but they definitely share that sound.. i am 100% sure.. check out the videos i mentioned bro.. also check out the fz25 video i added at the end of the post.. mine sounds exactly the same when hot
Just ride the bike. It should reduce after some 6-7k kms.Last edited by Shashank K R; 04-21-2019, 12:04 AM.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
In my case also the sound in not there while idling.. also not there or negligible when the engine is cold.. its audible when engine gets hot.. and as you move to higher rpms.. it increases.. but even after the engine gets hot.. the sound is not there while idling.. i haven't noticed that it is there in a particular rev range..Originally posted by Shashank K R View PostThe "coin rattle" on the FZ25 starts at around 4.5k and stops at around 5.5k RPM. even i have gotten my tappets adjusted during my 3rd service.. but issue still persists
i have started to ignore the sound and enjoy my ride.. though i'll be changing the engine oil to yamaha fs in my next service.. as i feel the mineral oil i currently am using is getting overheated pretty fastBajaj Pulsar 180 - 2007 to 2015

If possible can u make a video of the engine sound of your bike when it is cold & after a ride.Originally posted by vanp View PostIn my case also the sound in not there while idling.. also not there or negligible when the engine is cold.. its audible when engine gets hot.. and as you move to higher rpms.. it increases.. but even after the engine gets hot.. the sound is not there while idling.. i haven't noticed that it is there in a particular rev range..

Motul 5100 and 7100 helps in reducing engine heat, use that.Originally posted by vanp View PostIn my case also the sound in not there while idling.. also not there or negligible when the engine is cold.. its audible when engine gets hot.. and as you move to higher rpms.. it increases.. but even after the engine gets hot.. the sound is not there while idling.. i haven't noticed that it is there in a particular rev range..

I don't understand why yamaha has not rectified this issue. Previously on v 1 this was not present. Fz v1 has a smooth engine firing sound [emoji4][emoji7]

Sure bro .. I'll try posting the video in a couple of daysOriginally posted by truelypulsarian View PostIf possible can u make a video of the engine sound of your bike when it is cold & after a ride.
Yes bro I also believe engine oil should solve the issue .. because if there were an issue with the engine .. it should happen when it is cold as well .. i just want to try yamalube fs once .. if that doesn't solve .. i'll try emailing yamaha for a confirmation to switch brandsOriginally posted by #bpk View PostMotul 5100 and 7100 helps in reducing engine heat, use that.

what i think is in case of v1 the issue was not this widespread .. and it didn't happen this early .. the videos i saw on youtube .. the guys have done 1000s of kms .. but in case of the 2018 and 2019 models .. it starts very earlyOriginally posted by truelypulsarian View PostEven in the V1 the issue is present search on you tube u can get plenty of videos.
