Your charging system is the Tap and the Battery is the Bucket.Originally posted by Raty_FZ View Post

After a lot of reading here I finally got the Gpower spark plug for my Fazer V2 from a reputed website and I suspect it to be a fake one/ Not genuine.
Could anyone post a picture of a genuine CPR8EAGP-9 model spark plug please.
Thanks in advance.
PS:ODO- 34000 KM ,And the OEM spark plug was NOT giving me any problems ,just for the sake of improved mileage and performance,I upgraded it to G power.Yamaha RX 135 2010- 700km

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Hey friends..
I have some issues..
I have 2012 FZ-S 38500 kms running. Top speed as of now is 98-100 kmph without pillion. It used to go upto 122-125 kmph max. Once it touched 131 as well. But now it goes to max 100 only. Pickup also decreased significantly. Mileage is around 35-38(local) to 40(long run)all the time. Previously is was returning 40-42(local) to 46+(long run) with decent speed of 60-70 kmph. Riding style and distance covered now and than is same.
Bike has New Rear tyre, battery, Motul 7100 10w40, front fork refill, clutch wire, spark plug, air filter, chock wire, plus all basic maintenance with original parts only. But my bike never went through deep cleaning or decarbonising. Does it really make any difference if it is done.
1. How to clean carburettor and how many turns anticlockwise from locking position to get optimum tuning? Many people says that it is 3 full rotations anticlockwise.. or any specific amount of turns???
2. How to properly decarb engine from inside?
I have searched and found people saying for cleaning carburettor with fuel treatment additives without opening it. Just mix it with petrol in patrol tank and run the bike. It will automatically clean the carburettor. Is it really effective or one should do it physically by opening the carburettor and cleaning it?
Secondly... Is it really effective to flush engine carbon deposite, Gum formed inside with the use of any engine flushing fluids. Anyone tried them?? Does they harm engine anyhow or they are really meant to enhance the performance??
Please suggest me effective brands of fluids/cleaners and Process of solving above asked problems...
All the suggestion and advices are welcome..
Thanks in advance..

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Decarbonising is important. Thanks to our internationally acclaimed fuel quality the cylinder head gets clogged again and again. I would suggest cleaning the head. Have it opened at the local mechanic, get your valves polished, guides checked and head cleaned using lathe.Originally posted by Wheely-123 View PostHey friends..

Also, use a decent carb spray to clean your jets every 7,500 kms to 10,000 kms. It's more effective than any additive. Get your clutch plates checked as well. If they are close to wearing out, change them. Steel plate as well if needed.[My Motorcycles]

The fuel cap breather hole may be clogged. Please check with a very good mechanic and use any cleaner spray to clean the hole.Originally posted by Sriram D View PostGuys,

Otherwise, check Spark Plug color, if it is dry ash build up (lean mixture), then tune it properly ( counter clockwise 3 turns from locked point of fuel screw).
Take a good mechanic along with you if you are that much knowledgeable about the bike.Originally posted by Aazar salam View PostHi,
I would much appreciate if you guys could advice me about the things to check when buying a used fz16.
1) Inspect cold start up revving for white-gray smoke.
2) Check Tyre usage & Odo Reading, Normally Front tyre wears up to groove in about 30-35k kms.
3) Check the bike is cold or warm, if warm, check next morning how the battery/self works.
4) Take a ride, at about 60kmph, leave the handle for checking any wobbles, then at 20kmph, take a sudden stop for checking cone set .
5) Also Disc Plate wearing is okay or beyong normal.
PEA or polyetheramine is one of the good fuel additives to clean up carbon deposits inside fuel system. It may feel like a placebo, but actually it is good for engine life.Originally posted by Abhisek View PostIs yamalube pea carbon cleaner worth use?Regards

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Guys this is regarding yamaha fz v2. I've been using fz for almost 5 years now. I changed my tyres to Michelin 140/70( rear) when my bike clocked around 26000 kms. Now it's 60000kms and now I've started getting issues. I took my bike to the yamaha service center and they are telling that the shock absorber is gone along with drive axil and the chain and socket also need to be replaced.they blame everything on the upgrades tyre. Is it true should I change back to the stock 140/60 ? Guys who know please help
Showroom gave an estimate of rs 15000

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Anybody here facing bouncy rides?
My bike is 8 yrs. old and feel every bump / stone on the road. Tried adjusting the monoshock and changed the front spring also. No change!!
Squeaky sound comes from rear shock and thud-thud from front end.
Anybody can help and highlight the real cause? The real beauty lies in throttle's twist!!
Headlight can be replaced, Head cannot be. Wear a helmet.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
If thud sound is coming from mud guard striking against headlight then go for motul 20w fork oil. I always faced that thud thud sound even on every speed braker, busted oil seals at every second service but after changing to motul, 2 yrs and no problem.Originally posted by devils_friend View PostAnybody here facing bouncy rides?

May be your rear suspension has gone soft, i am currently on same boat(7.5 yrs) and it jumps like pogo stick and on un even road feels like ghost is steering her.
